To be fair, they're the only one. Nova, Zona, Duke all had really good seasons.

But...jmo...even teams like Miami or St Peter's...they simply speak to the high level of variance and parity in basketball. Many of these are games flipped one way or another by 1 whistle or 1 shot. Lot of luck involved. It is what it is.

But there's good reason why 3/4 remaining teams were 1 or 2 seeds. They were great all year.

It's why I both hate and love the tourney. It's great entertainment and a horrible method of picking a champion. It devalues an entire year's worth of work in favor of a lot of uncontrollable factors, including pure luck and ref bias. And it's the format that cfb has been marching towards despite the fact that it's been the regular season that makes cfb special.

Ok. Agree. But yeah UNC, that’s the way you’re supposed to do it. Same can be said for Duke. Seems like the loss to UNC woke them up. Again the way it’s supposed to happen.
Coaches paid millions to coach and develop their team, if they are not better at the end of the season then they aren’t doing their jobs

I'd be fine with Nova tbh. Wright is a top notch coach.

He has done such a great job there. I've heard he had some interest in Tennessee's job (no idea if true) when Buzz was hired, but Tennessee was too slow on the draw.

Performance in the tourney has nothing to do with how we should've been seeded. You earn your seed with your resume. Our resume put us as the highest 2 seed. The selection committee ignored that. Had we gotten a different path we're probably still playing.

Everyone loses except the National Champions. Come on man. We finished the season top 5 and that’s who we are. The tournament is important and a fun set up but it doesn’t prove who’s the best team. Do you really think the Peacocks are top 8?

Yeah they pick match ups that give certain teams a harder path and others favorable match ups. Of course every year there is a saint Petes that messes things up a little.
