It's at least some penalty this Spring.

What I wouldn't get is including last Fall. We didn't have room to add players anyway, so at least for that term, "taking a scholarship reduction" does sound silly. Like accepting a bowl ban when you're below .500.

Or a self imposed post-season ban when your basketball team finishes 13-14...like Bruce Pearl

I mean guys get faster when they grow into their body

I mean is he even 18 yet?
Oh ok didn't know if they had a plan to slim him down for our system or something.

Guess that's possible, it's hard to ever notice really. Seems most guys in college just get faster/slower depending on how much weight they're carrying. I'm sure they all get an ounce faster from 17 to 19 or whatever, but never seen a moderately fast guy become a burner either. 4.5 would be crazy fast anyway. 4.4 feels like more myth than reality for most college guys.

I am not doubting your info, and running straight ahead is certainly different than playing football. But there is no way Tauren Poole leads that list. There is an article out there on Jamal Lewis where the Ravens said he ran a sub 4.4 at UT's pro day. Rare combo of size and speed.

Yeah, I don't think Lewis ran at the combine...and after more digging that 4.58 is "measurable not from combine" so it could have been an old "official" from who knows when. So he's the outliner since the knee injury prevented him from running officially at the combine (why the website would post that 40 if it wasn't from the combine is strange though).

Still sub 4.4 hand timed isn't the same as what the combine laser would have read.

Wow...that's some lame NIL shirts, not gonna lie.

The only one I dig is this one.

BJ Edwards is already signed for this class...and we only have a spot for him IF KC leaves early (assuming no transfers, Fulky is a non-scholarship counting Super Senior)

So if Bailey decides not to come back (he could return next year and it's unclear if he'd get a "free" scholarship and be a super senior or not). We'd have one more spot.

I also think technically Santi, James, Uros, Olivier all could get an extra year as well.

So right now we have 1 signed and don't technically have a scholarship open for him (the assumption is KC leaves though and we use that one).

And then for the next class we may only have 1 scholarship as well...unless Bailey counts and is on scholarship next year.
Thank you for your thorough explanation. I'm good with Bailey moving on at this point.

Yeah, I think we may see him do just that after this season. He's already been in college 5 years and most likely he won't see more playing time next season here anyway.

So these next two classes aren't going to be very exciting (which is the preference honestly, Barnes & staff recruited guys they want to develop KC was the only one & done).

BC we have Hooker

And he can do no wrong.... except when he gets flustered and can then throw like Milton... Will be interesting to see his development for next season if he does not have wide open WR's running down the sidelines... I hope we do more 10-15yd plays next year instead of all out bombs every passing play...apparently we are going to be opening up the playbook now for next season... this could get crazy.

Basketball is certainly different than football when it comes to recruiting. Looking at the rankings, of course Duke and UK are cleaning up this year. Interesting to see Arkansas pulling some good ones. And then, I scroll a good waysssssss down to find our one recruit. But, I'm good with our 'numbers' and the potential of those that may return. And then there's the 'transfer portal' if need be.

Recruiting rich get richer. Bobo to UGA. Not sure role. Wouldn’t suprise me if Monken jump to NFL and Bobo slid in as OC. Bobo is an elite QB recruiter. I don’t get why harsin parted ways with him.

Yeah, we had 7 in last year's class and Powell as a transfer, so that group could all be 3 or 4 year guys (hopefully).

Ehh most UGA fans I know don't want Bobo anywhere near the offense long term. They like him as a person but his luster has worn off from Richt days.

I don’t consider him a good OC. He may recruit well, but when you can’t put your QB in a better positions, it doesn’t matter.

Good lawd please let them go back to the Bobo offense 😆

The worst thing that happened is they actually went a bit spread and modern with Monken. Please let them go back to that old offense.

They could sprinkle in the rare midfield throws, the but the rest is mostly schematic. From what I've read the point, much like extending WRs to the extreme hashes, is to polarize our ranges. Either we go short/horizontal or very deep, which really stresses the defense to the extreme. As long as we keep putting up near 40 a game, I really don't care. They have something that works. If they can throw more in and it's even better, great. Just don't want it to mess with a very good thing.

#1 thing our offense has to fix next year is sacks. It wasn't just pressures allowed either. HH had the 2nd nationally worse P2S% (sacks per pressures). He was double that of the elite guys. He was sacked on a whopping 36% of pressures. Gotta improve there.
