Tim Banks to Duke? That wouldn't be good

I wouldn’t be surprised if the ND guy took it. With Kelly going to LSU, he would probably be replaced if he didn’t go there, as well.
I think Freeman goes to Cinci and Fickell goes to ND.

Freeman is an Ohio State alumni and I think he eventually will go home as an assistant, even HC eventually of he does well elsewhere. The road from Duke back to Ohio State would be tough.

I think hes got a lot of work to do as a DC. Seems our D couldn't get off the field on 3rd and 4th downs, our zone defense was awful at times. I would like to see him have 3 or 4 more seasons as a DC to know for sure.
We're not very fast on D and we don't have many effective edge rushers. It's not all on Banks.

Those saying Career suicide are idiots

Cutcliffe
Ted Roof
Carl Franks
Fred Goldsmith
Barry Wilson

The past 31 years of Duke football, each of those coaches went to Duke and each of them died at Duke (head coaching career wise).

Where’s the idiocy?

Tony B had a guy on his show today saying it was between Banks, Tony Elliott and Marcus Freeman. I sure hope we can keep banks. I was hoping to keep this staff together for a few years and get some stability.
Underwhelming list. Duke Football is in dire straights

What do you guys think this will do for his career?
Could be a suicidal move.

If Tennessee wants to keep a coach, they know what to and how to do it. The only question is, is the UT willing to do it? I just hope the UT is out of stupid ammo so we don't sink deeper into where we’ve been and are just now barely crawling out.

If Elliott was scared of the situation here with maybe being his only shot. If he goes to Duke then that says he may want out at Clemson before the wheels come off.

If Elliott gets the offer, Dabo probably won’t talk him out of taking it. Dabo really screwed that guy, thankfully for Tennessee. I’m afraid it would have been a horrible hire in more ways than one.

1 massive exception there. David Cutcliffe was at Duke for 14 years. He went to an ACC title game, he went to 6 bowl games. Those things are not small achievements at Duke.

I agree. The next coach could be there for 10 years stacking cash all along and then jump to a real program when the timing(Credit given to hillbilly.)is right. I don’t think Duke is anyone’s dream job, it is a good stepping stone. The ACC is soft. NIL could make Duke a power house. How many Billionaires does a Duke have?

It wasn't career suicide for Spurrier.
Cut had some decent years there. Seems like he got them to a few bowl games.

Vandy is career suicide
This. Wake Forest just had a big year under similar constraints. The ACC isn't the SEC. Still a tough job overall though.
