After coming down from the win high, I do think our defensive game plan was pretty bad last night. They did scheme against Wandale Robinson but he still torched us pretty good. We were pretty good on first down after than first drive, but we were not aggressive at all with bringing pressure. Maybe that was the plan to limit Levis' runs, but we got our stops (few though they were) when we got pressure on him. I know they were gassed but we probably could have gotten off the field a couple of times at least if we had pressured Levis more. JMHO, and what do I know, but I still think Banks has done a terrific job overall.

How do you scheme against blatant OL holding that the refs don’t call?

Agreed
That makes zero sense. I mean the only way I could see that be faster is if they both started side by side on the field at the same time kinda 2v1. I’m sure that would not acceptable with all the practice restrictions.
Practicing against a 22 man offense would certainly raise Georgia to another level.

FWIW, on the line, when you play football, the first thing they teach you how to hold. You can post "why don't they call that blatant hold" online 1000 times, and I think we've achieved that, but honestly, that's how you play the game. Pass protection would simply be impossible if you didn't hold, and they do, and they will. A lot. Every play.

Imo….. that don’t trust the secondary enough to bring much pressure…they save their big blitz packages for specific important moments in the game so the other team is not ready for it…..we really need to be able to generate more pressure from our four men rush.

Yeah think I did see Meru but I'll have to double check. I think all these climbing movies are fantastic and I wouldn't free solo beyond 5 feet and probably even past 50 with a harness.

Climbing movies are great. Check out Meru. Really shows the exposure and the elements they put themselves in. It’s the most mental sport I’ve ever done. Played team sports my whole life, but when I started climbing it changed everything. The training at a gym then to go outside is night and day. But the mental training is the hardest I’ve ever done over any team sport. I loved bouldering way more than ropes.

I’ve climbed a ton in NC, Looking Glass and Boone, GA, TN, Joshua Tree, Zion and when I got to Yosemite those walls intimidated the hell out of me. Totally mesmerized. I don’t have what it takes to get on those walls at those heights. Mainly bouldered at Camp 4. Midnight Lightning is a beast. Think the highest I bouldered was 30 feet without a rope. That was scary. So yeah, what Hohnold and others can do is flat out amazing. That’s a mental threshold I can’t tap into.

I haven’t watched Georgia play, but that dude is in the Heisman discussion. I’m sure he won’t win, but that says a lot even being mentioned as a defensive player. He’s a load, and gonna cause lots of problems for our OL I’m afraid. Im sure there will be lots of time planning this week with what to do for him and the rest of their D to give Hooker time to make some plays.
Yeah I’m nervous not gonna lie. We have to double him and run away from him.

If I’m UGA, I line him up directly over Cooper and just bull rush

My initial thought as well.
This is exactly what teams do. It’s been done for about as long as up-tempo offenses have been around.

You get group “A” up to the line and while they are running the play group “B” gets ready. As soon as “A” is done, “B” lines up where “A” ended. And so on and so forth.

Tennessee did this when they were playing Oregon, but we’ve never had to worry about other teams doing it while prepping for Tennessee.

Ya know I don't think Beamer ball will last...seems too phony.

But I think him and Heup are both good replacement coaches for those teams based on their last coaches. Ya go from guys who yell and cuss and bash to guys who care about ya and keep things more positive, it helps a team.

Yup the documentary goes into that quite a bit. He mixed the novel with Vietnam and the psychedelic movement. It caused a bunch of rewrites because he was afraid it was straying too far from the novel and more just about Vietnam.
Right, Dispatches by Michael Herr, I believe.
