Read about all his stuff. Great author and person.“Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger; well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim; well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire; well, there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
It's a pretty great book. You'd probably enjoy reading it.
I had wanted Pruitt for a few years and thought he was the next big star….. I hold my head in shame.I remember reading the tipping point for Fulmer was the the understanding of what it takes (football talk) sales job and the names Pruitt said he eventually wanted and could get for assistants.
At the time, all the BS and SEC experience got me hyped, too. At least before I knew that it didn't matter who he hired because EVERYONE would conform to Pruitt ball or else.
Hindsight is a helluva superpower. But I joined in with Pruitt's screaming at kids being applauded as man's football and us adding up combined championships of all those assistants.
Along with a lot of us high-fiving that we were finally going to be paying players Bama and GA money.
Makes me sick thinking that I fell for what that giant skin tag looking genital wart was selling. But I swear, it seems like I was in a larger crowd at the time![]()

PSA: Ben on Swain mentioned Greg McElroy is calling the game this weekend. He mentioned Greg has already been going in on TN fans for the past weekend so you know he’s going to bring it up at nauseam on Saturday. Bama fanboy + last weekends stuff = Mute button going on. You would think these networks wouldn’t allow former players of the teams they are covering to call the game but ESPN gonna ESPN. Hope there’s not a bammer officiating too. Rant over. Vols vs the![]()
I had wanted Pruitt for a few years and thought he was the next big star….. I hold my head in shame.
I knew how each time he took over a defense…. They improved immensely…. Then I listened to an interview when he was with Georgia and seeing how much the players loved him( turns out just defensive players)…. I was sold and hoping we would get him even before we had to settle for him.Hadn't paid him that much attention previously but by the end of that search, I was 100% on board with taking a chance on an unknown over a known with a perceived ceiling.
Then, his intro presser (which I'd imagine was similar to his job sales pitch), had me convinced that "he gets it".
Make room in the shame line, imma jumping in.
ohhh i am sure Bama and UGA want this to just go away too..going to courr will be bad look for Pruitt and the SEC as a wholePruitt’s attorney firing off vague threats of embarrassing exposures to UT sounds like a last-ditch effort to strong-arm an adversary that you can see is not yielding to you. So does the whole “if you think I’m bluffing ask Kansas” thing.
My guess is UT feels comfy in its position because they have a buttload of very damning documented info on Jeremy that could kill his career if made public, and they know he won’t risk that.
It wouldn’t surprise me if some of that info had implications on another program he used to work for, one that has full capability of telling him to shut the **** up. Actually, who knows, maybe that could be where his real settlement actually comes from. They have enough juice to swat big flies all day long.
This. I thought he was a good defensive coach. I also thought since where he came from he had learned to cheat and we would be doing it with the big boys. I was wrong so very wrongI knew how each time he took over a defense…. They improved immensely…. Then I listened to an interview when he was with Georgia and seeing how much the players loved him( turns out just defensive players)…. I was sold and hoping we would get him even before we had to settle for him.
The very definition of racial prejudice and discrimination...but it's ok because he is black and you are white. He blocked me before I could explain that I’m a jersey collector and hardly wear the things to begin with. But I reckon he wouldn’t have sold it to me regardless
On the Milton thing... he screwed up. He knows he screwed up. If he's the best chance behind Hooker according to coach, then he's the best option behind Hooker. He's earned that from me. I'm puzzled by those that trust him on everything but don't on this.
On the Pruitt thing... he's garbage. He's a garbage human being, a garbage head coach, and he's a garbage defense coordinator. He's not the guru he's made out to be. He's built his reputation by having the best players on the field. He's built his recruiting reputation at places that it's easy to recruit to. Add to that places that have purchased their rosters for years, the dirtiest programs in college football.
To our lawyer friends on here, could the university counter-sue for damages incurred by his actions? Damage of reputation and monetary damages from possible NCAA sanctions.
@BruinVol are you still on the Schiano train. Asking for a friend.Whenever Rutgers was 3-0, with wins over mighty Temple, Syracuse, and Delaware, you would've thought Schiano was the second coming of General, Bear, and Saban all wrapped into one.
Young can run, but he's noticeably smaller than Corral. I would like to see them force him to run a lot and see if he can take the hits. I don't think he could last.
