This is going to be a hard schedule for a little bit-- let's not forget where we were last year. Hopefully we are actually heading in the right direction.

I am excited and like how we are actually winning ball games. A bad thought I had is we beat Mizz and SC last year. Granted, we whipped them more convincingly than we did last year and this is way more fun. However, I would like to see us beat someone else before going nuts. Don't take this the wrong way but it is the truth. I want to see us beat OM or Kentucky and beat South Alabama and Vandy and get to 8 wins. Even if we win one of OM and sucky and end up at 7, this season would far exceed expectations. You can see we have some good teacher's and coaching is by far better. Just want to shut up the nay sayers and beat a few others we are not expected to beat.

Fun times on Rocky Top. Excited to say the least.

Only complaint is clock management. Another game were CJH does a really bad job of preserving clock before half. He absolutely has to figure this out or it’s going to cost us a close game.

GBO!
Agreed.

Being at the game I noticed he’s trying to get them on the ball so the defense doesn’t have time to get set. A timeout gives them time to sub and get set. When he did call a timeout he was frustrated that they weren’t moving faster. But yeah, we had enough time to get multiple shots at the end zone had we used them correctly.

Just wish we had Hooker for four more years-- It is great having a quarterback who knows what they are doing. A quarterback who doesn't telegraph, knows how to hand off, knows when to run, and can throw to a receiver.
We have Action Jackson for the next 4, no worries. He's taller, has more moxie and throws a similar ball.

I could be wrong, but it seriously appears like JH is refusing to call a TO to challenge the team to be fast. Keep in mind, he's doing it when the game is already decided and I think he's trying to make them execute the way he wants to in live fire. Just like running the ball in the 3rd qtr. He wasn't going to bail them out with creative play calling, he was going to make them fight through the lethargy and execute. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but it's kinda like watching Barnes coach early in the bball season. He's more interested in teaching than he is the stat line.

Yea, we play so fast that TO’s aren’t a huge deal. They did let a couple of seconds go off when they called both, so that decision needs to be made quicker. On the last play, Hooker needed to throw it away. He took 10 seconds off with his run. It was open at first but closed quickly.
