No BS, but i know you don't have to believe a word i say, we were a lot closer to landing Gruden than most want to think or believe.

Even upon reflection I feel like I had a good filter for the BS of that time. No one will ever be able to convince me it was all just conspiracy and delusion. There was some interest, but Gruden wasn’t sending signals with his MNF tie colors.

It was Franklin until it wasn't and they had Elliot on hold, as a back-up, but they kept him on hold until his people told him he would be committing a serious career suicide by coming here. I would have bailed on UT if they brought Franklin here. That guy is pond scum in my book. It all fell apart after Franklin said no and then Elliot backed out too. I believe White didn't want to circle back and start the process again so he turned to someone he was comfortable with and the rest is history. I believe we lucked into something that can be really big for us down the road.
