Thoughts on SC game next week

I think TN will be favored and coach Heupel we’ll have the team ready. Think we win by 10-14.

South Carolina has a much better defense then what we saw today. Believe they’re ranked 28 (somewhere near there) in the country in defense.

Prediction: TN 38 USC 24

After watching SCAR today, I have a hard time seeing them score more than 17 on the Vols, 13 would be my guess. Doty is not good and they have a lot of turnovers. Kevin Harris is not 100% but he is getting better. If we build a sizable early lead, then we take away their running game, and their chickens are cooked.

I'll go with TN 38 SCAR 13.

This is the 5th consecutive game where the game plan was great. This is something we haven't had in a long time. With that said and this win, I would fully expect the staff to come out strong against SC. Hopefully the fans will turn out for this team and we can get 90k+ in the stadium. Come out with a "W"!!
Go Vols!!

USCe will not be nearly as bad on D as Mizzou was today, but we should not have any problems winning the game.

I would bet that you are dense. I have said three times now, I don't recommend betting on Tennessee.

Ah, I just see where I typo'd. Ignore that statement. 🤣
Definitely not dense but their are dumb bets to be made that has nothing to do with football what so ever

If we can jump on SCar early in our house…well, they don’t like it when that happens. Hope all our guys are healthy headed into next week.

Will this game be close or will the team continue to get better and it be another blowout. What are your thoughts?
A lot depends on how healthy we stay. We are so thin on players, the remainder of the season is balanced on a knife edge. But if we stay healthy, I think we keep improving

UGA has a good defense but they haven't seen an offense like ours. not close. Arkansas doesn't have any skilled position guys and Clemson doesn't have a QB or the dame talent. We almost always play UGA close and it's at Neyland. I LOVE out chance at Alabama as well just because of the way we played and should have been in the game late agasint UF. Josh will call the right plays
Ah the ol "I feel good about our chances against top 3 opponents because we lost by 24 to a ranked team that just got upset by an unranked team" argument.

Do we sneak into the top-25 with a few more ranked teams losing today? It’s getting to the point where a few 2-loss teams may be ranked next week. There’s a lot of parity in college football this season outside of ‘Bama & UGA.

It may be due to recency bias, but our big win coupled with other upsets may let us slip in. If we win next week, I think we are definitely ranked against Ole Miss.

I don't think so. Beating a very bad Missouri team on the road to reach 3-2 isn't going to get Tennessee getting into the Top 25. We're nowhere near the Top 30 in any sort of composite rankings, and there's plenty of unranked teams with 4-1 or 5-0 records ahead of us, and some 3-2 teams that probably have better cases, Florida being one of them. And additionally, Florida, Oregon, and Arkansas may lose ground but they aren't going to be unranked after a loss this weekend. There's no scenario where a team with our results gets in the rankings right now.

Now let’s not get all crazy in here just yet. I’m excited as well, but it was Mizzou here.

Fair enough.

I do worry about how our defensive back 7 (our least strong part of the field) match up against Ole Miss's passing game. Agree with you there.

But we're going to be able to score on them, too. As long as we continue to show the intensity and discipline we had today, we can move the ball on just about anyone (okay, just about anyone short of Bama and UGa). Should be a high-scoring affair.

Appreciate you explaining your perspective more fully.
UT vs. Ole Miss will end up being a basketball score.

Another "must win" for us to remain alive in our quest for bowl eligibility. Just have to hope none of the injuries today were serious. Gotta take advantage of SC at home. The 4 games after SC are gonna be tough for this team.

KY offense is pathetic. Their defense is stout, but they were 1/8 on 3rd down today and 211yds of total offense. They sucked on offense against UTC, SC, and against FL. We should never ever lose to those idiots.
