Thoughts on SC game next week

I’ll be there in section D, row 12. My fiancé’s first visit to Knoxville. She’s a Clemson grad but not at all an annoying tater like the rest of them. Regardless, she’s all Vol this weekend!

I think we will roll them. The boys will come out focused and with a lot of intensity. Luck is, Carolina lacks depth. We are also more talented. I think their D will be tough for 1-2 quarters before we start imposing our will.

Another "must win" for us to remain alive in our quest for bowl eligibility. Just have to hope none of the injuries today were serious. Gotta take advantage of SC at home. The 4 games after SC are gonna be tough for this team.

Depends on how they progress and how healthy the team can be. Right now, the Vols are looking far better than I expected them to be before the season started. As to bowl eligibility? Still doubt they will go to a bowl until the NCAA wraps up this investigation, and the fallout is announced. Until it is, I am not sweating that. I just want to see this team improve every week, and build a foundation for when bowl eligibility is not a question mark.

It will be closer because their defense is substantially better than Mizzou’s but I don’t think they’ll be able to keep up with us offensively. If we can slow down their running game, they’re screwed.

We have no running game,

Seriously. We had the top rusher in the SEC last year. This year, he is getting hit two yards behind the LOS on every play. Our oline is stinking it up.

Oh yeah; We Do Stoopid Stuff

I agree with your comments on Offense but your defense is a bit concerning. Light years above Missouri's but I expect you guys to play us tough as always. Best of luck sir but not too much :)

Explain why you tend to think they're better than the showing today, please.

I mean, they've only played Louisville...Austin Peay...and Tulane. Prior to today.

They've gotten a lot of hype. Corral for the Heisman, top 15 ranking, and so on. But a lot of that is probably just from Kiffin doing what he does: hyping his own team to the media off the record.

What are you seeing that makes you tend to think they're better than this miserable showing today?
Had they hit on those 4th down gambles the narrative might be different. They aren’t out of our league though, if we could play at night that’d be a plus

That player’s face whenever the ruling on the review came in is one of the funniest reactions I have seen in quite some time!

They are the opposite of Mizzou. Their dense is ranked 26th(NCAA) but their offense is 116th. Fewer points for us but still a blowout.

Worth noting he will I assume be out for the first half against Vols

South Carolina will be without a starting safety for the second half against Troy.
Senior R.J. Roderick was ejected early in the third quarter after a hit on quarterback Taylor Powell was ruled as targeting.

Based on ?

ESPN's matchup predictor favors us currently... oddly enough. I think if we are somehow 5-3 heading into that game, and Kentucky is 5-3 or 6-2, we will be favored. I know they beat Florida, and I give them credit, but that's the worst performance I have seen from Florida all season, and having watched a lot of Kentucky's other 4 games this year.... they are very beatable
