I hope Barnes has a coach in waiting that he’s coaching up to be his successor because I don’t think the AD can do it themselves.
Good grief….. we hired one of the top up and coming AD’s out there…. He is the second highest paid AD in the SEC and has an excellent record in hiring coaches…. He has only been here since January…. Can we give him a chance to work before judging him this way?

Oklahoma portal shops in multiple sports. They use player-to-player recruiting to get transfers lined up before they hit the portal, then fish them out. UT will need to have success in the portal. Developing potential and relying on FR won't give us the experience we need next year.
And we need to do it early on, so the guys we bring in can practice in the spring AND fall.

I wonder. If we start winning next year do all of the old Donors come back?

Lane Kiffin went 5-5 last year (his first year). He is undefeated so far this year.

I didn’t like that play. Btw the ball was always supposed to go to the guy he threw to.

I don’t know if anyone has noticed but a lot of times our guys go out and lock up on blocks and we have one receiver going deep.

For example of Payton’s TD, the other receiver was actually run blocking while Payton blew by wide open.

I didn’t think you could actually do this but I guess if you aren’t passed 5 yds deep you can?

The Ergens do support UT-- not always visibly and not as much as some think they should, given their financial position. Ditto other big-name families like the Andersons and the Kaos. A lot of their support is specifically earmarked for academics, endowments and facilities. UT's donor fatigue has been escalating. People are very tired of committing huge sums to support-- and too frequently bail out-- UTAD. A decade of bad decision-making wears on people, especially when the symptoms continue to negatively impact the university.

The pullback goes down to mid- and lower-level donors, who're wanting to earmark contributions for other sports and academics. Being discouraged from doing that doesn't go over well. Donors pushed hard for LNS renos -- which were more popular than Neyland renos. Donors won that one-- to a degree.

Kind of funny if you think about it... at first, if Donors/UTADMIN had ponied up enough money/support when things started to go sideways and got the right coach and people in place, we probably aren't in this position today and they aren't getting tired of bailing out the UTAD... they went cheap initially and are now literally paying for it...

They way they stack receivers means that that they can get away with it. Technically it's not blocking, just engagement. If the defense stops engaging with the front receiver, guess where the ball is going.

That moment you're almost home and notice a tall dog running free down the block...except it's not a dog at all and is actually a deer. A deer running through downtown wtf.

Reminds me of when I used to work in Biltmore Village and we'd get mass emails about a bear being outside. Or not and I'd drive out of work just to see a bear strolling down an alley like he's just part of the neighborhood.

Thanks man! My dad is a DVC member and this past week we were suppose to stay at the Wilderness Lodge with him before Covid happened. Now we’re trying to find something on property but nothing is available. Damn 50th! Ha! We’re leaning toward either the Swan & Dolphin or the Grove.
You absolutely have to plan a vacation for Christmas at the wilderness Lodge. That is where we stayed when we went for vacation around that time of year about three or four years ago. It was hands-down the best vacation we have ever had there and maybe anywhere. Just really sets you in the mood for the holidays and it’s beautiful. Wilderness Lodge has that Christmas feel to it.
