I am not saying you are wrong - you very well could be right. But what evidence do you have to suggest this coaching staff is better than the last?

Again, I am not flaming, trolling or looking for an argument. I just want to know what you see.
Uh, our defense is statistically playing better than it has been in years. Our offense is scoring more points than they have been in years. The scheme is working, guys are wide open on offense. Players like Butler and Jackson are showing clear signs of development.

not to mention the track record of Heup, Garner, Martinez, etc.

It’s a no brainer that this staff is better than one who had literal bag men coaching certain positions and Chris Weinke coaching QB’s

MY EYES!

Of course you say this...you are definitely looking for an argument.

I mean...maybe I'm just being overly optimistic. But hell far we've only had 1 team out of 3 score a freaking TD on us, and had we played a cleaner game with less mistakes we'd be undefeated. The loss came down to the team itself making mistakes, Pitt didn't really beat them or out talent them.

I'm very happy with where the defense is, I was most worried about that side of the ball. I had higher hopes for the QB play but it's better than what we got from JG and previous staffs. I like what Hooker has done. A OL that can't hold protection I don't see a real negative in a QB who can run and also is highly accurate and fast getting it out of his hands to WRs quickly.

Much rather see Velus Jones, Hyatt, Calloway, Tillman or Payton, etc. make a guy miss and go for 50 off a 3 yard slant than them getting over thrown by 5 yards or more on deep balls 50 yards down field.

Yeah, I think Garner, Martinez and Heupel as HC are no-brainer upgrades. The others we might be able to go back and forth on a little.

I don’t know - I think we’ve overcorrected on how we think about the last staff because of how it ended.

The problem to me - and it’s been this way since 2016 - is that the roster has not been very good.

That team just lost to the MAC ATTACK conference and the other two were high schools

The defense, especially the defensive line, has been much better than I expected. However, we have yet to play a good offense.

I think Western Michigan showed us what Pitt is - and we don’t even need to have a discussion about TTU or BG.

Fresno showed us what UCLA really is too

The evidence is already showing on the field. It’s about as blatantly obvious as the SEC officials trying to screw any team that plays Bama and Tennessee against anybody.

Wait for beast to give us practice reports from Tues/Wed on the QB. Sort of between and betwixt at that position now and possible even after the UF game subject to Heup's commitment to the existing scheme or willingness to modify for Hooker. .

Very interesting indeed.

It seems like the heart takes over for most on Saturdays (after the game).

This game will not be close, it shouldn’t be close, and has no bearing on Josh Heupel’s future. The one caveat I’ll say to that is if we continue to get useless penalties.

I don't agree with many of your takes, but this one is spot on. The players and coaches need to go into every game with the expectation of winning. Us fans, though, need to be realistic and not go into this one expecting to compete let alone win.

We haven’t played any SEC schools and our games have been at noon.. it will look a lot different at Neyland once we get into the SEC schedule
If we come into the SC game 0-2 in the SEC, I don't think attendance will look much different.

Pruitt's last year, that staff I don't think there's anyone you can really go back and forth on except Jay at RB coach....but I really like Mack and the growth in Wright vs BG to TTU has been really impressive.

Tee was a huge disappointment to me during his tenure...at every group he was coaching. I think the jury may still be out on Burns, but the WRs are getting better separation this year just lack of deep ball accuracy from QBs so far.

What BJM & Ekeler have done with the LBs has been pretty amazing to me. Losing some of our highest recruited LBs and they've still managed to get that group playing well. And we've still not seen Willis yet (who may be the most talented of the LBs).

TEs is hands down Alex, the TE group (Warren & Fant) have already surpassed last year's numbers in just 3 games. Hauling in 15 catches for 129 & 2 TDs vs last year Fant 12 catches for 103 and 1 TD (no other TE had any catches).
