Uhh yeah, you’re right… if Milton could throw a decent deep ball, we wouldn’t be having these convos… but he can’t. If Bailey could run like Lamar Jackson, it would probably be different tooAfter seeing the depth chart for this week, it honestly doesn't surprise me that Milton is number 1.
It's weird but clearly last game seems to be an anomaly from what the coaches saw in practice. Hooker isn't the answer even though he showed flashes. His deep ball is just as bad as Milton. Milton throws it in the stands and Hooker's deep ball is plain ugly. Hooker has also turned it over 3 times in the past two games. Also, Hooker is not going to win any games with his arm. Take away his ability to run, and he wouldn't play anywhere in America. Honestly, Bailey has the best deep ball of the three, but lacks in other areas.
If Milton connects on just one deep ball, this is a different conversation. I'm not saying Milton is a good QB, but the coaches seem to think he needs more time. Hooker is what he is. Milton may be what he was at Michigan (I think he is). But Heupel seems to think Milton is the guy we roll with and I'm going with his judgement over my ignorance.
I think this gets revisited after a few more games. Milton needs a little bit more time, but not much. One thing that worries me about Milton is that it is often believed that you can't teach accuracy, and Milton does not have that beyond 15 yards. We are in another QB quandary boys.
The plays were there to be made for the win.I’m still so deflated by the Pitt game. And I acknowledge I shouldn’t be. There were a ton of positives.
But Im such a homer and I get so worked up every year thinking we’re gonna overachieve and that game served as a reminder that this year is just gonna be another mediocre year.
A 6-6 year should be the expectation in year zero for this staff….. but that doesn’t make sitting through a 6-6 season any easier.
I just want to be good again.
Have you forgotten JG already?I agree. Hooker isn’t the answer in this offense. If Milton can do it in practice, he can likely do it in games. He just needs to settle down. Make him live in practice, get him those reps, and eventually he should hit those deep balls. If Hooker is playing, all the defense has to do is sell out to stop the run
But according to some Ainge isn’t always truthful about what he “sees” either. He has his favorites and rolls with them.
Either way, some kids perform better in “live” situations.
We/they will never know til you put him out there. Cause by all accounts if Milton/Hooker are lighting it up in practice, it’s not translating on Game day.
So maybe it’s the reverse effect with HB.
I just want to see him get a honest chance. If he fails then so be it, but who knows
Are we just completely ignoring what he did in live action last year? I wanna see him play too, but it’s not like he’s shown anything so far.
We’ll see what happens this weekend.
he sucks no way around it. Not worthy of a single start. Or even pt. He’s not mobile so he can’t succeed in this offense. Can’t throw the ball 1yards to push the ball downfield. /Blue Font.Give me the best explanation possible as to why he threw for over 11,000 yards in his HS career against the toughest competition in the state of Georgia, but shows up and sucks? Let’s also add he torched every single team in the Geico Championships against just as good competition and I’m suppose to believe he shows up and sucks ass? Nah don’t buy it.
If the two others are better then fine, but they haven’t proved it. Hooker is better than Milton and earned the starting role this weekend after the Pitt game. Milton hasn’t proved anything besides having a big arm. Still has the same inconsistencies he did at Michigan. I hope Heupel doesn’t do the same Pruitt did with JG.
I think that's a lot of fans. We've been starved for a good team and a meaningful win for so long. When we finally see a good game and an opportunity for a win, we forget about where we're coming from and focus on the "what-ifs". It's frustrating to want to win so bad and to be so close, just to lose again.I’m still so deflated by the Pitt game. And I acknowledge I shouldn’t be. There were a ton of positives.

HS stats are overrated to a fairly large degree. Any recruiting analyst will tell you this. Lemme know who the all-time GA rusher is (never heard of him) Or all-time Florida HS passer (1st or 2nd most talent rich state)...Give me the best explanation possible as to why he threw for over 11,000 yards in his HS career against the toughest competition in the state of Georgia, but shows up and sucks? Not sure anyone thinks he's booty. Just that there's a reason he's in developmental mode. Last year showed as much as to why. Many issues. But he'll actually be able to develop this year under a real QBC and I for one am optimistic about his future.Look HB may not be the 5 star savior we hoped but I have a feeling he would make a lot of people look stupid acting like he’s just ass. We know how this goes. He will play late in the year and once again prove to be accurate and fans will be sick. He’s proven it at every level so far he at minimum deserves a shot to show what he can do.
It makes it worst after seeing all the replays and just knowing we should have won. That had to be the worst officiating game I've ever witnessed. I heard yesterday that Pitt had 0 holding calls. I watched that o-line hold most of the game, especially when Pickett was rolling out.I’m still so deflated by the Pitt game. And I acknowledge I shouldn’t be. There were a ton of positives.
