Wish I were strong enough to log out of VN and VQ for the next couple years. It’s truly a toxic environment right now. If a coach loses a game it’s time to fire him. If a freshman doesn’t make 10 tackles or catch 3 TD’s in week 1, they’re a bust.

The reality of this program and the expectations of some fans day 1 is so ridiculous it’s not even worth the energy to read and reply.
People want to fire huepel? Lolol.

I think it’s going to be tougher to find that ideal fit for USC than one would think. Keep seeing Bob Stoops being namedropped. He’s an Iowa guy and there’s reason why he never left Oklahoma.

Also, for your purposes during the entire time that Hooker was in we only ran 10 Deep plays.

Of those 10 deep plays Hooker threw the ball 5 times.

Of those 5 deep attempts he only connected on 2.

Of those 2 connections they were both to the TE up the middle of the field.

Of the 3 remaining throws he overthrew 2 WRs (struggled to even get it to them) and threw an interception (to the middle of the field - his only deep throws completed location)

This isn't accurate. I just charted all his throws, 2 of his 6 incompletions were because of defender pressure. 1 was an INT, 1 was an overthrow towards the Pitt sideline (looked like he threw it away) and then 1 was a deep ball that was a tad overthrown, but it was placed on the outside shoulder in really good coverage.

He had one other deep ball that was a "miss" but it was defensive PI on Tillman otherwise he would have had a shot at catching it. Was on the money.

Never saw a "struggled to get it there" on any of his 22 throws. Share the clip if you did though.

I mean, arguably our best coach of the modern era was nicknamed "F@t Phil" so....I don't know.

Dooley, Butch, Pruitt were all in good shape and we know how that turned out.

A person's weight is no measure of their personal discipline or ability to perform their job. There are lot's of reasons that people struggle with weight. CJH does not strike me as lazy or undisciplined.

I’m gonna jump in and say, I totally agree with this. But for me, if you have a guy that has worked all off season with the WRs and they click, you would think he would at least get a shot to see what he does in live action (not controlled spring game).

You can kinda see when Milton over throws open receivers there is a frustration there with the WR. I say, work HB in with the 1s this week and let him get the first quarter Sat and go from there.

I honestly agree and thought it was a no-brainer until he chased his old flame from high school. Now I want Heup to start Milton until they both throw up on themselves or do so well they can brag about the wins. The receivers know and we can tell it by their body language each time it happens. They work hard to get open and do their jobs. They are rewarded with fast balls thrown way over their heads or so hard it breaks their fingers. It doesn't take long before they start going through the motions as we have seen in recent years.

4. What's your best debating skill (choose one):

a. moving the goal posts
b. small sample size
c. comparing apples to oranges
d. confirmation bias
e. lying with statistics
f. all of the above
g. fill in the blank:

Saying something so ridiculous and nonsensical your head explodes. Tried and true winner.

so you think Bama is beatable?
Of course. Hell the best Bama team I ever saw lost to Clemson. We're 2 games into the season and I think Ole Miss could sneak by Alabama if the stars line up like a case of Bama meth mouth. Any team can drop a game

Something I think we as fans gotta keep in mind as well.

70ish scholarship athletes, limited numbers allowed in recruiting.

We lost JT, Maurer, Salter... the QB room is kind of thin honestly. Ideally they'd probably return all 3 guys next year and add the incoming freshmen, but we know that likely won't happen. If Bailey is on board with using his RS this year to develop his game then I truly have no issue with that happening. But in order to do that they have to limit how many games he plays in. So early in the season why Milton/Hooker are healthy they will probably leave him on the bench. Cause if you play him in these first 3 games...and then the other two QBs get hurt you lose the opportunity to RS Bailey.

If HB had better “rhythm” with anybody, he would be playing. Ainge has said multiple times that every time he watches practice that HB has the most incompletions and trouble running the offense… by a lot

But according to some Ainge isn’t always truthful about what he “sees” either. He has his favorites and rolls with them.

Either way, some kids perform better in “live” situations.

We/they will never know til you put him out there. Cause by all accounts if Milton/Hooker are lighting it up in practice, it’s not translating on Game day.

So maybe it’s the reverse effect with HB.

I just want to see him get a honest chance. If he fails then so be it, but who knows

Wasn't that the claim about Dobbs? He was rough in practice, but once the lights came on, more often than not, he played well.
