Wouldn’t a Go-To receiver be the guy you are throwing at to get First Downs and TDs when you need them? Or usually the QBs first target? How do you define "go-to" receiver though? Cause if it's based on YAC or TDs then Velus may not be the go-to receiver, but he could still lead the team in catches/targets.
Just like Moss' first year for the Vikings
Carter had just 1 more target but caught 9 more of them than Randy, but Randy averaged 6 yards more per catch and scored 5 more TDs. Carter though could still be argued to have been the "go-to" WR that year, since he ran more of the route tree and Moss benefited a lot from the deep ball which they threw often.
I think Velus has the best chance to lead the team in targets next year if he's healthy, because he will be targeted at every level and someone with Hyatt's speed may not.
Like when we needed a RedZone TD or a First Down on 3rd or 4th down we usually knew that the ball was going to Jennings. (Which made him the Go-to receiver)
