Coronavirus (No politics)

but get vaxed or stay home!

And only 4 of them hospitalized and 0 deaths. Sounds like good odds to me. I tell you what doesn't make sense...someone claiming COVID tests can't be trusted due to false positives yet claiming they definitely had COVID (would require a positive from said tests) and don't need a vaccine because they have natural immunity. Whatever fits the desired narrative...

where is the data about natural immunity? You’ve ignored my posts from Emory and others that claim natural immunity is very effective. How convenient of you.

I’m not claiming anything. The cdc said their test failed the review bc it could not differentiate between COVID and flu. I’m sorry your infallible cdc had faulty tests, take it up with them.

i have antibodies. But go off.

A new study has just come out on covid-19 immunity in recovered patients. I have looked everywhere for reports like this and you would expect it to be major news. But this will never see mainstream news coverage.
Reports like this have been out for months but you have to search for them.

covid-19 immunity
I just came here to post that one of the guys at work has been following the news on this and he was telling us there is mounting evidence you can have long term immunity from the disease itself. So that is very good news if true. Delta might me more contagious and less deadly, so the context of the whole problem may be changing to more like the old timey coronaviruses. When I catch those I just complain but otherwise there’s nothing to be done.

News reports are the Delta variant is more deadly, not less

Get the damn vaccine fools. My only side effect was a sore arm I mean it’s better than being dead or having scarred lungs for life. Drop your stupid conspiracy theories and do the right thing here. I swear it’s mostly alot of uneducated and unintelligent southerners who are refusing to get the vaccine makes me embarrassed to live down here. Selfish and stupid people are killing themselves and other people.

Wife and I got the Moderna. Both had fevers the first night followed by flue like body aches, her for 2 days and me for 3. Both of us would do it again in a heartbeat, but would like to try the Phyzer as I haven’t heard of as many post shot symptoms from it.

. If I have to get a booster shot later on I gladly will. I just had a sore arm and a little fatigue on the second shot like I was coming down with a cold what not but it passed within 24 hours. To me I felt more of it on the second dose than the first one.

When have I argued that natural immunity is not effective? I haven't. My argument is that you can't be 100% confident that you had COVID, thus having natural immunity, and not trust the test at the same time.

As for the tests...the CDC admitted no such thing. You read what you wanted from that release because that's the conclusion a radio show host posted on Twitter. You shared it on here. You're not claiming anything? You literally followed that up with claiming the CDC had faulty tests. You don't even see how you're contradicting yourself. It's incredible...

Ok...so I'm going to share some information that was recently posted by a local infectious disease doctor and was passed along to me by my mother who happens to be a high level executive with a rather large health system. They are already seeing major impacts from the delta variant and are very concerned with the way things are heading. For those that are not aware, a 10% positive rate has been considered the threshold where COVID is considered to be widespread among a community.

"As of yesterday, 50% of our Covid-19 tests were positive. 61 out of 122. Please get vaccinated. If you choose not to or have been vaccinated, wear a mask inside in close proximity with others (less than 6 feet) for an extended amount of time (15 minutes). The Delta variant makes the vaccine slightly less effective, but still at least 90% protective for hospitalizations and deaths."
