Almost everyone I know is a conservative republican and they have all gotten the vaccine. No one had a bad reaction to it and none of them have caught the bug. So in my limited world it works. And works very well.

For that matter, Donald Trump got the vaccine, Rupert Murdoch got the vaccine, every Fox News host got the vaccine (they actually have a vaccine passport program at Fox News), etc. None of those guys is falling for a liberal conspiracy.

I got the vaccine myself, I'm doing fine. If I get COVID it's almost certainly going to be a mild case, because I'm vaccinated and I have an effective immune system. Same would go for our players, whose younger immune systems work better than mine. Some of the older coaches may not have as much luck -- as you get older, your immune system is less effective, and that include the antibodies created by vaccination. Coaches and players should get vaccinated now rather than later on after practice starts, because if you've got an active immune system you're going to feel your body's response to the antigens, and you wouldn't want that interfering with training.

I feel that I have done a lot of reading on this and I understand that my kids are at little to no risk from covid. They would be at a greater risk from the vaccine. They won't be getting it.

Not true. Lost a starting o-lineman for a game. Lost some backups a couple of other times. Had various coaches out for Kentucky, Auburn (including Saban), LSU, and Arkansas.

Butch Jones had to fill in as RB coach for 2 games, so I challenge you to show me another program that was as negatively affected.

Well said. I’m 65 and in excellent health but I wasn’t taking a chance with catching it. Got my second dose in early March.
I have a good friend whose daughter is an ER doctor at a couple of suburban Chicago hospitals. She said everyone she has seen with Covid issues were not vaccinated. 100%.

Imagine there are 100 people who live in England; 90 vaccinated (90% of people over 50 in the UK are fully vaccinated) and 10 unvaccinated.

Now say 5 vaxxed people get an infection and 5 unvaxxed get infected. At first glance, these two groups look equal.

But for infections…
Vaxxed = 5/90 = 6%
Unvaxxed = 5/10 = 50%

Imagine 100 people get infected and 60 of them are unvaccinated and 40 of them are.

Exactly!! I know PERSONALLY of numerous cases of "Fully Vaccinated" getting covid (Some DIED) and, How about the Olympic Athletes (Vaccinated) having to pull out of the Japan Games?? And I've never seen a wave of transplant new residents in my life........houses cant go on the market or be built fast enough for the demand.........I will definitely vote for DeSantis if he makes the run for the White House.

RIGHT! I just had a Friend DIE from covid, 48 and Fully Vaccinated. And a Nurse hospitalized with Blood Clots; Vaccinated. Peddle it elsewhere.

Pfizer and Moderna are, it seems, the two vaccines that have the least side affects, probably because the same technology was used to create both of them. There is so much misinformation out there that many believe, and that is a big reason they are reluctant to get the vaccine. I had the Moderna vaccine in March and April. Only side affect I had was a very minor amount of tenderness at the injection site, and with the second injection, the second night after, a low grade fever that I didn't take anything for, and woke up the next morning with no fever and felt fine. I was 67 at the time I took the vaccine. Just to find out some truth about these two vaccines, Google "Are covid-19 vaccines made from aborted fetuses" and see for yourself.

well again, we aren't the ones who made it political. The only reason it is political is because of the way the left has treated it. We have been lied to constantly, had rights taken away, seen our churches shut down, etc. etc. There is no reason to believe the narrative out there because we have been lied to so often about this virus by the media and by politicians. Heck, we've been lied to by the CDC and so called disease expert Fauci. He's done nothing but lie ever since this began.

As for the vaccine. I'm not going to die from the virus because I'm not 85 nor do I have multiple co-morbidities. But further, again, anyone who wants the vaccine can get the vaccine. I'm not stopping you or anyone else from getting it. So me not having it should not affect you or anyone else if the vaccine really works. If the vaccine works and keeps people from getting the virus or keeps them from having severe symptoms, then why do those who have the vaccine care if I get it or not?

I'm not going to stick a chemical in my body that I do not need just to make people who already have the vaccine feel better. You're safe. Leave me, and more importantly, my children, alone.

All of my children are completely vaccinated for all the standard stuff. That is because there were years and years of research and testing and usage to show that they were safe. Parents (for the most part) don't question those vaccines because if they have questions about them, someone is willing and able to answer their questions and put their worries to rest. This vaccine does not have those years of research and testing behind it to back it up and when someone wants to ask a question about what they are about to inject their child with they are told to just shut up and vax up. Ummm, I'm sorry. This is my child. Not a lab animal.

The FACTS are:

a) that children are less likely to contract covid because they naturally have fewer of the ACE receptors that covid latches onto to infect someone.
b) that children are often times asymptomatic and have very mild cases if they do contract covid.
c) that there are few if any known cases of a child passing covid to an adult.
d) the vaccine has shown to have more severe adverse affect in children and there is not enough data to understand why that is happening.
e) other countries have halted their vaccine programs in children because of the adverse side effects on young people.

I respect you greatly Doc but I will not be getting my children vaccinated and they will not be wearing a mask when they return to school. After seeing how the masks affected my two youngest daughters last year, this is a hill I am willing to die on.

Got to be crazy hard to be a parent these days sorting through all the conflicting information posted online!

Were masks optional in schools last year and what were the ill effects on your daughters from wearing masks?

Here is the actual CDC report. Did 6,000 die FROM the vaccine? NO
Did 600,000 die FROM Covid? NO
With Covid? Sadly yes.

Vaccines do pose adverse risks, always have but the #s are very minuscule. Someone’s chances of getting struck by lightning is greater than dying from the vaccine.

If you read this report, they have verified myocarditis, now up to 1,200. Again a small #, but transparency is key. Might have played a role in the 13 yr old‘s death from Michigan unfortunately.

Key word there should be Asymptomatic meaning they won't die from the illness. In reality illness can occur but is far and away significantly reduced in severity.

I didn’t say asymptomatic did I ?. People are still getting it snd having symptoms even after the “vaccine”.
