Plenty of folks not in those areas to justify getting the vaccine, though. The problem is people seek out information which they feel confirms their predetermined position on the matter and the politicization of the vaccine has accelerated this process. Thus, they point out certain articles or supposed facts which they feel back up their beliefs and ignore those which don't. But, it's simply better to look at the overwhelming support for this from the medical community and try to avoid the noise. Sure, they could be wrong, but the likelihood is not high, subject to peer review and there will always be a small number of exceptions in the medical field for anything anyway.
But, I do feel your concern about trusting government officials with interests in mind, but I think most, in my experience, are fairly dedicated to their work. It certainly isn't unreasonable to want to trust something beyond those folks, though, and, fortunately, there are.
