This. The politicization (by both left and right) of this whole thing has certainly compounded the tragedy.

The negative side effects, as far as I know, are mostly from an aggressive immune response trying to respond to the virus.

Stronger immune system = stronger reaction from the vaccine.

Not a doctor but I had an awful 12 hours after the vaccine and I've always had a bad response to flu shots too and that's always what I've been told.

Disclaimer: I am no expert regarding COVID nor am I in the medical field. My beliefs come from things I hear and read…and from speaking with those in the medical field.

1. Just because you had COVID does not mean you can’t get it again.
2. Vaccinated individuals can still get it. Just ask NC State.
3. Men are more affected by the virus than women.
4. People who are obese or have underlying conditions such as diabetes, auto immune diseases, etc. are more at risk of being adversely affected.
5. Both the virus and the vaccines are too new to know all effects. More and more studies are showing that vaccines, especially with younger people, have side effects (heart inflammation).
6. The COVID death rate is approximately the same as the flu death rate…it is just way more contagious so way more people get it.
7. I know multiple people in the healthcare field that refuse to get vaccinated.
8. A co-worker has an auto immune disease. She got the vaccine and became seriously ill to the point she was hospitalized for a week plus. Said if she could go back, she would not get vaccinated again.
9. I know people who had COVID and still got the vaccine. They became seriously ill.
10. I know people who received the vaccine with no side effects or little side effects.
11. To receive the vaccine or not should be an individual choice.
12. Most people I know who got COVID wore masks…so wearing masks are questionable as to their effectiveness.
13. The panic over COVID may be worse over the virus itself.
14. Straight from a doctor: having holed up at home last year created mental health issues with longer lasting implications than the virus does.

(The Chicken Little mentality is what another poster may have had in mind when he called COVID a mental health issue.)

Now, my beliefs (or should I say conspiracy theories):

1. COVID is not a “bug”. It is a virus…a man made virus.
2. COVID escaped the Wuhan lab when mishandled.
3. Harvard professor Dr. Charles Lieberman, former Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, was working with the US National Institute of Health and the Department of Defense on something Top Secret.
4. Dr. Lieberman was arrested in Jan. 2020 for selling “secrets” to the Chinese…specifically the Wuhan lab.

For those of you who can read between the lines…the US was dabbling in biological warfare. The info was sold to China. China continued to experiment with the information. It got out.

Explains why neither the US nor China have official explanations. We experimented in something we weren’t supposed to. China stole it and mishandled it.

And now, back to the Volunteers……..

My brother is going to get it becomes he travels overseas often and they are requiring it. Once he has had it, he is going to encourage her to get it as well. Our politicians should be ashamed of themselves for turning this into what they have.

This is why I want to learn more on the gain of function research and I want some heads on a pile if confirmed this was in fact man made.

My theory:

I've read patient 1 and 2 were employees of the Wuhan lab. It was absolutely a genetically altered virus. Our government knows this and may be somewhat complicit thus they want to keep it under wraps. If it could be 100% proven that China was responsible it could very likely lead to WW3. We'll likely never know what the real story here.

They should have all walked on the field in uniforms yesterday at the time of first pitch ready to play, minus the 2 positive unvaccinated players, and sat down at the pitching mound. Then refused to leave the field until Vandy came out and played the game. Even if without umps.

The COVID-19 protocols are mystifying to me. We have a close personal friend who contracted COVID last year got vaccinated this year and just contracted again a much more severe case of Covid within the last week. I thought vaccines reduced the severity of the virus vaccinated for but didn’t prevent contracting the virus. Regardless, for her the vaccine didn’t help.

Ive read the numbers for Moderna and Pfizer are between 80-90% for Delta.
