Coronavirus (No politics)

Tell that to the 60,000+ that died from Covid in Texas. That’s about double the deaths from the flu in 2019 in the entire USA.
Texas has much more stringent requirements for labeling a covid death than the liberal states.
Just because the media and politicians made it a social and political issue, doesn’t mean that it’s not a dangerous and deadly virus.
Not a week goes by that my patients don’t talk about friends and family they have lost to this virus.
Its gotten a lot of people, and not that many at the same time. Overwhelming old people who had other health issues. Not 18-20 yos in peak physical condition.

I hope so. I don't trust any of the science in either camp. I think there is way to much assumption. I think there is way too many alternative motives that make there way into opinions. At first they were saying natural antibodies weren't present 6 months after exposure. If it were me, I would have an antibodies test from time to time. For me it's not about me but the loved ones around me. If I were to unknowingly (or knowingly) pass on covid to someone and they died, I'm not sure I could ever forgive myself.

I give blood as often as possible because I am O+. The RedCross performs antibody tests on all donations now. So that is a great way to monitor it and help out those in need at the same time.

Also anyone who’s blaming NCST players for not getting vaccinated is mentally r- you know

4 of the players that tested positive were vaccinated. They can have a full stadium not wearing masks and not known if they’ve been tested/vaccinated but not the players? Ridiculous. hope whoever plays Vandy wins by 20 both games (was hoping that to begin with but now there’s incentive)
The next thing is you will have to prove you have been vaccinated to enter the stadiums. I just hope it's after the first game which I am going to, or at least let you prove you have the antibodies.

Whoever wins the MSU -Texas game should absolutely insist that the entire Vandy team get tested if the NCAA is concerned about positive tests in vaccinated asymptomatic players.
Yep. So make college athletes get the vaccine. Why? Because it keeps them from getting rona? Lol, of course not. They can still get it.

Oh, it’s to reduce symptoms. But wait, young healthy people rarely show symptoms, right? Oh yes, and in fact, young healthy people are more at risk from the flu, which we do not require vaccination for, than they are from the rona. But still get it anyway because reasons.

Oh, is it to stop others from getting it? Lol no, they can be vaccinated if they want to, and still, as seen above, can get it anyway. And there’s side affects in young people that are cropping up for the vaccine.

So why should a young person get it then? Because we said so, and if you don’t, we’ll punish you.
You bringing up side effects is just as stupid as everything else that has been overhyped. There are side effects that effect some people to freakin everything consumed or used in this world...anti vaxxers are screwing everything up for the rest of us that just want to f'n get on with life without wearing a f'n slave mask.

If those dudes were all vaxxed, and they weren't false positives...then they took one of the $***** useless vaccines like J&J...they should have done a little research.

Because they've had the virus. People who struggle with the vaccine have had the virus.

Not always, but that’s definitely true.

Flu vaccine tried to kill me one year (took it way late). Haven’t had the flu at all since I started getting the vaccine in September every year. The earlier you get it the more time your immune system has time to prepare for the actual virus.

Not everyone who doesn’t want to take this vaccine is an anti-vaxxer. I’ve had all my vaccines. My children have all had their vaccines. But I’m not taking this worthless covid vaccine that I don’t need because the government tells me to. Especially when I’m at 0 risk of anything with it. I’ve had the virus. No big deal at all, and now have natural immunity. Don’t need the vaccine and it’s stupid and a major overreach that the government and organizations are forcing young healthy people to take a vax that they don’t need.

And I’m living my life just fine maskless and vax-less

Going to have to disagree. The side effects from the flu shot has me down for 4 to 6 months. I am more afraid of the side effects of the vaccine, especially after seeing what has happened to some people, than I am to the virus. Which I had...did not enjoy it, but I survived it after a week of being lethargic and having sinus infection symptoms. (And, yes, I know a few people who actually died from it. And even a teenager who had severe symptoms for 3 months.) Plus, you yourself have said it is not going away. So why make people take the vaccine if they already have antibodies? Just so we don't have to wear masks?

I pray for all that were negatively affected and those like your BIL most of all. I am not dismissing the disease or the vaccine. We know people that have had severe negative side effects up to and including death. It is not a joke of a disease for many people and should be taken seriously. I and my family had a natural infection and the evidence is proving out that those with a natural infection will likely carry the antibodies forever. So effectively we have been vaccinated.
Same way I feel. If I hadn't had it already, I'd have been first in line for the vaccine. But I'm not going to suffer through yet another couple days of covid symptoms and incur the risk (albeit small) of a vaccine that has no long term side effects evidence yet just to satisfy the hygiene theater hysteria when 100% of the data so far says that getting covid protects you from getting it again.

The same hygiene theater hysteria that robbed those NC State kids. That's the kind of outcomes we get when we let people use fear instead of science to drive their decision making.

Funny thing is I have not had the flu in the 15 years since I stopped getting the vaccine! Yeah, I know...."Nothing works the way it's supposed to with you."

My son, 21 got his second shot yesterday (moderna). He's laud up in bed complaining. His 82 year old granddad, in stage 4 lung failure never had the least bit of side effects. Freakin' soft ass kids these days.

(Seriously, I have to wonder why younger folks seem to struggle with the vaccine.)
The Moderna was rougher on me than Covid was, but only for two-three days then the effects just suddenly ended.

I feel like I'm one of the rare people who don't care if you wear a mask or get the vaccine or not. I'm living my life how I want and idgaf how you live yours. Do I think it's all as bad as they say? No. Do I think it's fake? No.

Just leave me alone

sigh, perhaps preventable? it's same song and dance. I just hope and pray that the politicization ends. Just go get the shot. It isnt bad.

but youre right at this point enough people have access to information to inform themselves, he had access.

ill be praying for your brother in law.
My problem with the idiots is things like Cruising...They are the ones screwing up the whole deal. If you don't wanna get vaccinated then fine, but don't screw it up for everybody else by forcing your way on one. I love a good cruise, but I sure as hell don't want to have to wear a f'n mask just because a few idiots want to "dig their heels in"

You're being an ass hole as well as an idiot. More people don't have the flu every year than do. So the fawk what? If you actually paid attention to what I said, you'd see that I agreed it was over politicized and there was a huge overreaction, but none of that lessens the severity for those who actually DO get the disease, which you don't know **** about since you haven't had it.

Forget it, Weezer. You are either labeled one side or the other. There is no middle and compassion with some. ****ing ridiculous.

I’m sorry this is happening to you.

@VolsDoc81TX

Quick question because I trust your expertise and I like to ask experts their opinion before solidifying my own:

You said something about this Corona Virus being a Novel form. In lieu of the email information (leading to other info) dealing with “gain of function” research, could that research lead to a virus becoming novel, and if the answer is yes, how can that be considered in anyway ethical?

To others: I apologize for bringing this up, but again, I have an opportunity to ask and I’m truly curious from Docs perspective.

I had zero side effects with mine…28 years young

Good for you,...but I didn't get the super effective, not useless,(that was stupid azz comment, you and I and agree on a lot of stuff, but not this) Moderna vaccine because anybody told me I had to, I did it because I carry old sickly people to doctor appointments every day and I wanted to be as freakin sure as I could possibly freakin be that there was literally zero way I could pass it to one of them.

Also because I love to travel, and I don't want to have to wear a mask on anymore .

Yeah...just to get rid of the freakin fear slave masks...I hate them. You are nowhere near the normal vaccine recipient...don't take it and hope you are immune forever...good luck with that because it is here for good.

Also...I'm not for making anybody take it, but I don't wanna hear anybody bitching about dying from Covid because they refused to innoculate themselves or their loved ones.

You’re not rare. It’s just if you even hint at making less of the disease you basically get accused of being okay with murder. Which reminds me of how I should’ve responded to your post. - MURDERER!!
