Say what you want about Rick Barnes, but heās one of the best recruiters in the country.@bleedingTNorange did you read this? Proves my point Barnes is a Lazy recruiter
Good post. I have mixed emotions on Fulkerson. At some point you have to get on with your life but this year was the worst way it could have ended for him. Is he going to be happy playing overseas and making a paycheck above giving it a go for one more year in Knoxville? Will be a tough decision for him but I agree with you, he needs some help in the post and canāt continue to get beat on. Pons did not complement Fulkersonās game. Fulkerson needs to play the 4 and let someone else bang with the big boys.I hate to her Fulky is coming back. They force him to play inside where is cannot make it thru a year without constant injuries which limit his effectiveness. In all of his time here has never developed a jump shot. Barnes will use Fulky like a crutch inside and will probably not go sign a good inside player from HS or off the transfer portal.
Fulk will be 4 if he returns.Good post. I have mixed emotions on Fulkerson. At some point you have to get on with your life but this year was the worst way it could have ended for him. Honestly, thatās why we didnāt shoot at a high percentage as a team. We usually werenāt taking good shots. I bet about 1 out of 3 shots were quality looks. If you hit 60% of your quality looks but only 10% of your others that wonāt look great even though you might not be a terrible shooting team.He passed up a bunch, his 3ās were wide open which is why he shot a great %
Actually per ShotQuality we ranked #1 in SEC in shot qualityHonestly, thatās why we didnāt shoot at a high percentage as a team. We usually werenāt taking good shots. Yeah, we missed SO many wide open shots. Really good looks.Actually per ShotQuality we ranked #1 in SEC in shot quality
Lmao so is argument landing recruits or players who out played their ranking? Seems like 2 different discussions?Come on man. You know Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld would have been ranked higher than any player we have ever had if they had rankings back then. Name me one of Barnes top 4 recruits that has played up to their ranking?
Wow, I really find that hard to believe. Whatās that based on? How do they define quality?Actually per ShotQuality we ranked #1 in SEC in shot quality
Iād have to look at that more closely but if you watch our guys play they sure donāt look like they take many quality shots. Now, if you come down, never pass the ball and jack up a 3 from 4 feet behind the line thatās not a quality shot but itās possible this measure says it is. Interesting though for sure.Essentially open looks

How dare you sir! You can't use facts to blow up one of the most asinine takes on VN (the other being CRB is too lazy to recruit)...that is a low blow to the posters who have tirelessly and meticulously crafted and then repeated this narrative over and over.
