7-5...

UCF's average ranking was 60.5, FAU was 71.25 over those 4 years. You can't just add them together like that. By that logic Clemson is 36 spots behind Alabama over the same time frame. Statistics are your friend.
An average of 11 spots isn't anything to sneeze at. Clemson has superior coaching, particularly defensively and an easy path to the playoff. Put them in the SEC where annually there are 2-3 teams of the same or greater talent and they don't find themselves in the playoff year after year.

Can we all agree if CJH can pull off 7-5 next year he is initially a successful hire? Looking at the schedule and if he can get a DC to match his apparent offensive genius then I don't think 7-5 is impossible..

5 wins is baseline, 4 is disappointing, 6 is a strong season, 7 is excellent, but with how easy our schedule is, it’s almost guaranteed to lead to regression in year 2 and idk if our fans are ready for that.

I like to consider myself an optimist.

But I don't see how RB will be much better. We lost Gray and Chandler and picked up Tiyon Evans to go with Beckwith, Hodge and Small. Push at best.

WR, QB and TE I agree though.

OL is a question mark with Morris, Trey, ole man Kennedy and potentially J. Johnson gone. But we will have a new OL coach not named Friend and Spraggins will only get better. We haven't seen the best from the Mays Bros and Wright either. Calbert and Carvin returning too!

On defense: We need some transfer portal help at CB and hopefully Henry T and Crouch stay put. We also desperately need edge rushers. Come-on Big Kat!
The same DL who were good in 2019 took a step back in 2020. That's coaching and we need a very good DL coach. Most of DL returns.

You missed Jaylen Wright and Cody Brown as well Len'Neth Whitehead who was injured. Beckwith was injured for much of last year as well.
Wright is a 4.3 guy who has gained weight and is up to 200 lb, with that speed.

Cody White is no slouch either, rated the 10th best back by 247, and at 217 pounds, he has some wheels as well.

We will be more than fine at TB.

We have all our TEs coming back as well as Pope and Miles Campbell is an early enrollee, who will make waves at the HB position that Heupel likes to employ.
Campbell is, IMO, underrated even at the 13th best TE. He is a gym rat, very intelligent, motivated, not a prima donna, etc... He honestly is about the best fit for Heupel's HB/TE.

BTW, both Wright and Evans are early enrollees as well.

Superior coaching? Is Dabo that much better than Saban? I mean he beats him for NCs about every other time they play.
Bama averaged a recruiting ranking of 2 over that time span, Clemson was 11. It's hard to say UCF has significantly better talent than FAU, unless Bama also way better than Clemson. That is unless a gap of around 10, in average recruiting, is in fact "similar" talent. Also, if Kiffin is so much better than Heupel, why couldn't he overcome that same gap?

I fairness I am over simplifying the recruiting rankings and only have a layman's understanding of them. But I can't find a basis to say that UCF has much better talent than FAU. Unless we are going on the "eye test". In the group of 5 that's about like rolling dice.

I think a 6 win season is successful. We dont know who is still transferring, who is staying, going, coaches or any of that. We loss Smith, Morris, Henry T, Gray, Crouch, Johnson, Thompson, Chandler, Lawrence plus several others. Most were the best players we had. Not counting the decommits. But considering how many left i will be happy with 4 wins. Then next season I expect 7 wins or more.

Don't forget who we are. We are entitled and never satisfied. So as usual we should be expecting a SECC and a spot in the CFP. Nothing less........because that's who we are as a fan base.

The last thing i read from 6 days ago said Henry T had entered the Transfer Portal.

I heard the same but I haven't heard that he landed someone where.. He can still come back and that goes for any of them not enrolled else where yet. CJH needs to desperately recruit those in the portal to stay especially Henry T!

5-7 at best.
im wondering why both of yal put OM down as an automatic L. They had the worst defense in the SEC last year. I know they had a great offense and Kiffin can dial it up but they couldnt stop a nose bleed. We werent great at defense but even with the worst offense in the country our defense was still better then their's. If its a shootout i think our defense will get a stop before their's do. If our defense just stays the same as last year and we meet expectations on offense we get to 7-8 wins

This is a ridiculous question. We have no idea what the full staff will be, and we don't know what the reasonable expectations are for the other teams on our schedule. Lets not begin calculating a possible outcome for a few more months at least. Doing this now sets us up for failure, especially when it is way way too far ahead of time to even guess at matchups. Geez
