An average of 11 spots isn't anything to sneeze at. Clemson has superior coaching, particularly defensively and an easy path to the playoff. Put them in the SEC where annually there are 2-3 teams of the same or greater talent and they don't find themselves in the playoff year after year.View attachment 346442
UCF's average ranking was 60.5, FAU was 71.25 over those 4 years. You can't just add them together like that. By that logic Clemson is 36 spots behind Alabama over the same time frame. Statistics are your friend.
Can we all agree if CJH can pull off 7-5 next year he is initially a successful hire? Looking at the schedule and if he can get a DC to match his apparent offensive genius then I don't think 7-5 is impossible..
I like to consider myself an optimist.
But I don't see how RB will be much better. We lost Gray and Chandler and picked up Tiyon Evans to go with Beckwith, Hodge and Small. Push at best.
WR, QB and TE I agree though.
OL is a question mark with Morris, Trey, ole man Kennedy and potentially J. Johnson gone. But we will have a new OL coach not named Friend and Spraggins will only get better. We haven't seen the best from the Mays Bros and Wright either. Calbert and Carvin returning too!
On defense: We need some transfer portal help at CB and hopefully Henry T and Crouch stay put. We also desperately need edge rushers. Come-on Big Kat!
The same DL who were good in 2019 took a step back in 2020. That's coaching and we need a very good DL coach. Most of DL returns.
Superior coaching? Is Dabo that much better than Saban? I mean he beats him for NCs about every other time they play.An average of 11 spots isn't anything to sneeze at. I think a 6 win season is successful. We dont know who is still transferring, who is staying, going, coaches or any of that. We loss Smith, Morris, Henry T, Gray, Crouch, Johnson, Thompson, Chandler, Lawrence plus several others. Most were the best players we had. Not counting the decommits. But considering how many left i will be happy with 4 wins. Then next season I expect 7 wins or more. Can we all agree if CJH can pull off 7-5 next year he is initially a successful hire? The last thing i read from 6 days ago said Henry T had entered the Transfer Portal.
im wondering why both of yal put OM down as an automatic L. They had the worst defense in the SEC last year. I know they had a great offense and Kiffin can dial it up but they couldnt stop a nose bleed. We werent great at defense but even with the worst offense in the country our defense was still better then their's. If its a shootout i think our defense will get a stop before their's do. If our defense just stays the same as last year and we meet expectations on offense we get to 7-8 wins
