It won’t make much difference. He’s likely still blackballed by the conference. That’s why Auburn wasn’t interested in him.

I think, just like in 2012 and in 17 with Gruden, Freeze or Napier are the only two who the fan base would say let’s ride with this. If it’s some bs hire we’re going to get more bs. For some reason I think they’re going to nail this hire.

Guys, you've got to give it up. We just fired a coach WITH CAUSE. I have a better chance of getting that job than Hugh Freeze. I have experience coaching Middle School Girls' Soccer and club level 7&8 yr old boys soccer.

I think our best bet is a year with Steele as interim and then hire Freeze next year. Time heals wounds.

We obviously SHOULD hire Freeze now. It is 100% worth the risk. Surviving another bad coach would be worse.

I really think it will be Jeff Fisher, or someone similar, maybe Marrone. It definitely won't be Kiffin or Freeze, and I really don't think it will be one of the young "up and comers." They need a mature and stable CEO type coach that has experience running a program that will hire smart and capable assistants. I also think this doesn't necessarily hurt us in recruiting. These type of coaches attract mature players that want to work hard.

If we weren't facing possible big ncaa issues, I'd agree. Given we apparently are, you can't because we would catch the hammer if he messed up again.

To me personally, it's not that he cheated. It was the absolutely stupid way he did it. Everybody cheats. Not everybody does it in such a crazy, easy to find way Freeze did. That's the issue IMO. At this point the university cannot take that gamble.

If our PR department can’t make a coach who made some bad decisions then went on to do right coaching at a Christian university not look like a reformed man of God FULL of integrity, they are trash.

I don't either.. I'm betting on someone you'll have to google search, either that or Kevin Steele gets the job for next year. That is about how UT does things.
