This is not a kind and gentle league. Not a lot of benevolence. And Hugh has enemies everywhere. He’s known as a backstabber and fraud in the coaching community. Not only would that make it hard for him to hire an SEC caliber staff, but also would also put a scarlet letter around his neck on the recruiting trail.

Let’s say Hugh goes into Houston to recruit a kid and starts talking about how “Jimbo Fisher just isn’t a man of faith” (like he has absolutely done in the past). You don’t think Ross Bjork is going to say “alright Hugh, you want to go there?” Again, $16M and didn’t get a dime. You think the man doesn’t have skeletons that the league and people in Memphis know about?

The man is not hireable in the SEC. period. And regardless of what Hugh Freeze tells you, Hugh Freeze was never remotely in play at South Carolina or Auburn or Southern Miss or Memphis last year or all those OC jobs he claimed. What you need to understand about Hugh is, if his mouth is moving he’s lying.

And I’m no moralist. I’d take Kiffin or James Franklin here in 2 seconds.

“He only got busted at Ole Miss because he beat Bama twice”. LOL. Saban went to the playoff and won the NC the two years he lost to Ole Miss.




Nobody cares that Hugh cheated at Ole Miss. everyone cheats. No one really cares about the call girls. But when you market yourself, your program, and your recruiting strategy as Joel Olsteen Light you better walk the walk. Hugh didn’t and doesnt. And if you think he gave up $16M over just some phone numbers on a call log...come on.

Do I think Hugh is a good coach? Yes. In a one off situation where I have to win a game? He’s on the short list. As a program builder and sustainer? No. And let’s keep something real: had he coached in 2017 he was going to be fired at Ole Miss bc that team had begun to tune him out. They went 6-6 bc they were playing hard for Matt Luke. They weren’t going 6-6 under Hugh Freeze.

And I won’t even get into the tweeting and the Briarcrest stuff.

Sorry this was kinda rambling. I just can’t tell you how vehemently against a Hugh Freeze hire I would be.

Pruitt has zero. Those titles are Saban’s. We’re not going to be able to hire a better coach than Freeze. If we don’t hire him some other P5 school will and we’ll have to watch him pull off another rags to riches rebuild while our next Doofus McGoogle figures out a way to suck worse than Pruitt. There is only one clear choice if we want to win.

I will bet he has found the folks he was appealing to at the presser to stay off social media with negative stuff are the lead dogs in the Freeze camp. Probably not impressed. He would have to be brain dead to not listen to his bosses as they made it plain where integrity stands the requirement list for coaches. See how many on the Freeze team on here are appealing to ignore that message acknowledging he has issues. If he wants to stay employed he better listen to his bosses not any fringe element. We better have learned there are costs associated with coaches that are willing to push the envelope. We have paid those costs with Pearl and Tyndall and are lining up at the window with our current Pruitt issues. It is pretty evident that the NCAA keeps an eye on folks as they move to other opportunities. We do not need that scrutiny. Nobody needs those prying eyes opening branch offices near the sports complex.

we are about to overpay for an unproven coordinator who will much more likely than not fail just like the last one, or another McGoogle head coach who will much more than likely fail like Dooley and Jones. we have a proven program builder sitting there for the taking who will come here for a fair price and put this dumpster fire out. If White's Plan A was James Franklin and Plan B was Sonny Dykes, then he's already shown me all I need to know about how much weight the title Number 4 Athletic Director carries.

Just to be clear, Franklin would be a better hire than Freeze IMO. I just think Franklin is out of our league right now. Fine to offer him the job and hope you get lucky but there are a lot of ladder rungs between that Hail Mary and Sonny Dykes, Freeze being one of them.
