You keep blaming fans for the mess, then throwing in "but Pruitt needs to be fired". You're playing both sides of the fence. This is completely on Pruitt and his decisions. And he's shown nothing to even hint he can fix this mess. The anger of fans is justified.
I have very deeply ambiguous feelings about all of this..

I’m not sure he will succeed. My curiosity though is the players must see something that makes them believe he will succeed.
.
Whatever they’re seeing, no one else is. Pruitt mismanaged the QB situation and can’t get a defense worth a damn on the field, which is supposed to be his area of expertise.

I hope he does get things figured out tho, because I think we’re stuck with him next year and 2022 as well because they aren’t going to fire him for going 6-6 if they don’t fire him after this awful season.

Who still show up in force, year after year, game after game, for a sh¡+ product put together by an admin who take our loyalty for granted year after year, only to have national media members to lambast, ridicule, and perpetuate that sentiment.

We have one of the most loyal fanbases in all of sports and we get crapped on by everyone.

Seriously...GRjr can stick it with that comment.

Every fanbase has their turds but, we are FAR AND AWAY one of the most disrespected fanbases anywhere.
No one hates Tennessee fans more than Tennessee fans.

Same reasons as Gruden? Wait...When was Garrett a GA here? Which former UT cheerleader did he marry? He owns land in East TN? Any of his kids attend UT? :)

Kidding. Seriously, I think the real reason Gruden got so much talk was his genuine connections to UT.

Well I meant same reasons it would have worked football wise😜

Ahh what’s a mvp race without a QB winning. What’s the equivalent to a 2k rushing yards and 17td for a QB?

4,544 yds passing, 37 tds, and a 69.2 completion percentage for a 13-3 team. Last year the team was 10-6. 3 win improvement.

Titans are 11-5 this year up from 9-7 last year. 2 win improvement.

All that in Buffalo and not Nashville.

Don't get me wrong, Henry is a stud. But Allen had an incredible year. And, I am neither a Bills nor Titans fan. So I have no jaded horse in this conversation.

MVP and most improved player are two different awards. Allen wasn't even the best QB in the league.

So losing to Georgia st and BYU at home, blow out loses to fla, Georgia and Bama don’t constitute a failed season? That should always be considered a failed season at Tennessee.
And then turning the season around by winning the final six games while rebuilding the worst team in Tennessee history...no it shouldn't. Context is always lost on people like you.

This year was a for sure failure.

Show me one good legitimate thing he has done positive and consistently for the program the past three years to improve it ... and don't say recruiting because Lyle recruited well too and JP has done a horrific job of developing what he's recruited...

The passion of the Tennessee fanbase is second to none. However, that passion can also be a detriment at times. Most notably on social media. If everything isn’t pie in the sky, group think amongst the fanbase leads to wanting to just fire people. The reality is, most don’t know what really goes into running a successful program. They just think they do. We finally have people in leadership positions that have a backbone. Shut up and stay the course.

I honestly don't understand it either. I get why people wouldn't want him to go to the NFL, but that decision is not on them (the fans). It's on the player. And they can do whatever they want with that decision. If they chose to go to the NFL I will support them and be happy for them. Not many people get to say what he just said (I am entering the NFL Draft). If they choose to stay then I will happily accept them back and wish them a great year.

So in all, I understand GR jr.'s statement and where he is coming from. I also understand the anguish that this fanbase has felt and gone through as I am as much a part of it as everyone else here on this board. However, this anguish does not give any right to the fan to crap over the kid announcing (and let's be honest a fan actually doesn't have any right to do that, but freedom of speech blah blah blah and what not). Be happy for the kid. Wish him well and focus your disdain on those who should receive it.

I do think he shouldn't have made it sound like the whole fanbase is horrid, though.
