What some people call "balls", others would call "principles". We won't consider Hugh Freeze, and I like that we have standards and that we won't compromise our values for a coach who hasn't proven that he can win within the rules which govern the NCAA.
You claiming that we are playing by the rules now?

Oh, I'm sure we break some rules... Most everyone does. We are not as brazen about it as Hugh Freeze was at Ole Miss. We aren't going to hire this guy. And I know about the wins over Alabama, but was his time there really so special? Take a look at that final season especially.

The problem with this is that Freeze was probably playing by the same rules Alabama was and got called on it because Saban did not like it. Everyone knows about the free suits and the Dodge Chargers. I have to wonder about the things we don’t know about.

If any move is made to remove Pruitt, IMO, the next hire will definitely have ties UT (former coach or player w/ previous coaching experience).

Fan base and others may be willing to extend additional time to one of their own, rather than some hired gun or another unproven coordinator looking advance.

Nah, this fan base is part of the new want it now generation. They'd bitch one if our own outta town!!!!

Tennessee would have never hired him anyway. I don't understand the interest in this guy. Even if you put aside the phone calls to the escort service, Hugh Freeze didn't prove that he could win at Ole Miss, without cheating. The NCAA Committee on Infractions concluded that Freeze had provided impermissible benefits to several Ole Miss players, including Laremy Tunsil.

On top of that, let's look at his records at Ole Miss:

2012: 7-6, 3-5
2013: 8-5, 3-5
2014: 9-4, 5-3
2015: 10-3, 6-2
2016: 5-7, 2-6

TOTAL: 39-25, 19-21

What is the obsession with this guy? Is it just because you consider him to be attainable because he coaches at Liberty? This is not the type of coach the University of Tennessee would ever hire. Nor should they. Get real.
Ed Orgerons record at Ole Miss - 3-8, 4-8, 3-9. Goes to LSU wins natty.

Over the holier than thou crowd on here that thinks we can’t hire anyone who has ever made a mistake. Go be a fan for Liberty. DONT give me the speech win at all cost is not acceptable. That has got us nowhere over the last decade.

Blah blah blah. UT ain’t got no more principals than any other schools. That’s a myth they sell the fools to use as an excuse for their incompetence

I just don’t see Pruitt gone after this year. What I can see is next year Pruitt gone and then someone like a James Franklin coming here. I really, really just want the AD to have a plan. I do think Freeze will get offered the SC job or the Auburn job this year.

Because maybe we haven’t hired a winning coach.

What will happen is, he will go to another SEC school and proceed to beat our eyes shut every time he plays us.

There’s a breakfast trip to the Shoney’s on Rutledge Pike in UT’s past that completely debunks this whole statement.
And then we rehired the damn guy...
