Why the hurry? The dumpster fire needs to rage a few more years. Then, we can fire the coach with no replacement. Then Haslam needs his opportunity to cram a mediocre coach down our throats in the dark of night. Then, we can all rebel and cause a national spectacle. Then, after every good coach is taken, we can search the leftovers for a coach.

Freeze staying at Liberty until we get the Pruitt buyout down a little more. Winter is Coming to Knoxville in 2 years.

Tennessee would have never hired him anyway. I don't understand the interest in this guy. Even if you put aside the phone calls to the escort service, Hugh Freeze didn't prove that he could win at Ole Miss, without cheating. The NCAA Committee on Infractions concluded that Freeze had provided impermissible benefits to several Ole Miss players, including Laremy Tunsil.

On top of that, let's look at his records at Ole Miss:

2012: 7-6, 3-5
2013: 8-5, 3-5
2014: 9-4, 5-3
2015: 10-3, 6-2
2016: 5-7, 2-6

TOTAL: 39-25, 19-21

What is the obsession with this guy? Is it just because you consider him to be attainable because he coaches at Liberty? This is not the type of coach the University of Tennessee would ever hire. Nor should they. Get real.

This is one of the biggest falsehoods that keeps getting tossed around. Sankey cannot nor would he tell a member university who they can hire. He may frown on a particular hire but there is absolutely nothing he can do to stop a member from hiring a coach.

He would do very well at uscjr though. Spurrier proved you can win there.

It will most likely be Vandy but USCjr will make a run at him. It won't be Auburn because he doesn't want to go back to the west.

What some people call "balls", others would call "principles". We won't consider Hugh Freeze, and I like that we have standards and that we won't compromise our values for a coach who hasn't proven that he can win within the rules which govern the NCAA.

Vandy isn't going to hire freeze, UT is more likely than vandy. Vandy has none of the resources of the other sec schools and certainly doesn't have the commitment for such a hire. That is pure cray cray to suggest vandy as a real player.

Liberty is going to pay a huge buyout? [deleted] please! No, this is good news because it means he stays at Liberty a couple more years, then we can nab him when Pruitt trots off to chew his cud in some cow pasture.

If he is truly holding to his Christian values and atoned for his transgressions with his family it isn't our place to judge. If he just put some window dressing on it and has kept his nose clean but will regress it will devastate this program worse than Kiffen.

He's a great coach and will likely have success wherever he goes. I don't think we want to take the risk associated with the hire but wouldn't protest it either....

Bottom line everyone deserves a second chance if they truly want to do the right thing....

His Christian values, good or bad, are not the reason he is a no go for most programs. Not everyone wants a win at all cost type coach. He was shut down by the NCAA and SEC because he cheated at football not because he cheated on his wife if he indeed did. Cheating is a hard habit to break for coaches like that. The argument gets old really, with reports of 40+ million in losses to the University, 15+ million in contract buyouts if you were to fire Pruitt plus the 30+ million commitment to the Freeze and his staff make it highly unlikely financially. Freeze's will demand his next contract protect him and not the University, I just can't see it happening coming off historic losses financially to the University.

He’s not leaving unless it’s someplace special. His exact words, it would have to either be an established championship school or if it was a Vandy they are going to have to pay him an exorbitant amount to deal with a university that doesn’t care about its football program. South Carolina seems the most logical, UT would have to fork out above 30 million to trade Pruitt and his staff for Freeze and his staff.

Vanderbilt has the resources. The members of their Board of Trust wouldn't stand for it, especially Bruce Evans.

I was thinking if UT did come up with a plan to hire Freeze but the SEC could not get Saban’s approval. I would love for UT make it public and help Freeze sue the SEC office.
