Don’t flame me here, but I rewatched the first half and was pretty shocked at how well we moved the ball all half. The only thing that stopped us were penalties and turnovers. Point being, I don’t think we’re as far away in offense as people are making it out to be. Second half at Georgia, and whatever the hell the second half Saturday was being the exception. We need to gain consistency, which obviously I’m not sure Guarantano can deliver on, but we’re not far off.

I thought we were still gonna win the game at half. UK wasn’t stopping us, we were stopping ourselves. Their O wasn’t doing anything either - they were just scoring off pick 6s.

Then the 2nd half happened.

JG shoulda played baseball.

On a personal note, beyond 40 thinking about HS ball makes me shudder. Picking up, yes, my 1 year old one can hear every pop & crack in what are, really an old person's knees.

I’m not as far removed from high school ball being only 29 about to turn 30. It definitely brings the nostalgia, and I miss it. I always remember in practice thinking too much and trying not to make the coach mad and being singled out at practice, but when the games were played, I was focused and just let my instincts take over. It was nuts.

Does anyone have a reasonable and optimistic take on our current situation? I would love to hear it.
It was always looked at as a wildcard year with this mess. We knew it could turn positive or really negative. Well...outside of Alabama...how many sec fanbases are happy right now?

We are seeing the negative possibilities from this chaotic season. This was always a wildcard year and I am not putting too much stock into it. It just sucks if recruits do.

I probably shouldn't say this, and it is just anecdotal. But I was at church yesterday and was in a conversation with a couple, whose grandson is a manager for the team. I can't say that I know them at all. However, they said that the managers are trying to help Bailey with the plays and get him up to speed as quickly as possible. The insinuation was that he was definitely behind based on the events of this year.

Also said that he looks the part and has a cannon.
Good positive post!! You should post more often 😅

I include myself in that, but the difference with me is that as I add context I generally calm down.

For us to get better and healthier as a program, we absolutely need to avoid turning poisonous and becoming a negative cancer. Doing that will not help make it better.

When Pruitt was hired, All I really wanted from him was to restabilize the program that had fallen into Hell. I mean even if he never wins a championship....just be Johnny Majors and get us close.

He is well on his way to doing that, and If you can't see that, then you are just being a negavol butthead...period.
I have to say Mcgill - maybe it was your trip and seeing all that beautiful nature - but you are just a regular ole pill of sunshine and calm these days like I've never seen. Whatever good mojo you have going on, pass it around...and don't let go of it.

My question is where in the absolute f*** has @Atlanta VOL been In all of this? we need his insight and reassurance that everything will be ok.we are one decomit away from having a
( Lane Kiffin leaving in the middle of the night) meltdown.Buddy where the hell are ya we need some clarity in here
You think he owes an anonymous message board anything, especially when some crap on him every time he brings some info?

I was the opposite of JG during my playing days in high school ball. Completely different level and not really a great example but I was never a good practice player but I played better in the actual games. Every athlete is different for sure.
Same. I hated practice and conditioning. Put me on the field and I hustled more than anyone.

Coaches probably told him to lay low for a while til all this blows over after Bama and regroup during the bye week. It's a sh** show right now

Id say theres a really good chance technique and or philosophy were not THE reason.
You don't fire somebody 4 games in for that. You reduce their role and let them go at the end of the season.
Not really. If you're the boss and someone is not working out as planned at their job, it's difficult to demote them because they're not gonna be happy. It's best just to cut bait and move on.

I just have a real hard time believing the team is this bad. I put it squarely on Pruitt that he has continued starting 2.

We can play with anyone. We were winning with momentum at Georgia. This team needs a shot in the arm . A new face at QB and one they will fight for. I think it is HB. He doesn't have to be spectacular . Hand it off and give him some high percentage throws .....like a.....slants . I bet he can even throw behind the los without it being a fumble!

Eff Bama .

I was on board and in line with this reasoning until this season, I turned skeptical last season at the beginning, then Pruitt seemed to right the ship.

Fast forward to this season and I'm satisfied with the start. But then the collapse the past two weeks has me skeptical. I never expected to win at GA, but I did expect to look competent. We continued to look bad against KY. That was a game that should have been won. This team doesn't look very well coached to me. In some areas I actually see regression. Some of that is surely due to the craziness of this season but not all. There are some very valid reasons to be skeptical.

It’s pretty clear at this point that he doesn’t know anything that’s going on

In coaching circles it's absolutely handled the way he laid it out the vast majority of the time.

We would have won if we just ran the ball every snap. We’re averaging 7 ypc. But Chaney can’t help himself. Even with the worst QB in college football, he wants to throw it all over the yard

Fight me.

I don't care about the social justice stuff. I don't combine those two. But his unit has been beaten terribly the last two games and he needs to not address the fans in a negative light. That's horseshit
That unit needs to perform better, and be needs to be held accountable like everyone else. Did not hear him address the fans negatively.

While I really was disappointed with our DL I kind of shrugged it off thinking maybe it was because we had a lot of new starters up there but I can't say that I woke up today thinking that it would be our DL coach getting the axe. I believe at the end of the season we will see more moves. We got to remember all we see is the surface of what is going on so things like this will always leave us wondering. Right now for me, please start another QB.
