To Protect and to Serve II

People tend to trust people they know. Ridding themselves of the crappy image they have goes a long way.
70-80% of people i dealt with when i was on the streets "trust" the police and are cordial and respectful.

10% are normal people who just hate the idea that they got caught doing something wrong, and some of them were annoyed or pissy

10% are criminals who i could've given a hug and $20 to and they still would've cut my throat if given the chance.

My response to that would be that police should have been focusing on hoodlums, thieves and murderers the entire time. Cause and effect. Writing tickets and harassing people over pretty azzed reefer, tinted windows and wearing coronamasks should seem like a waste of police time and effort now. Oh, and don't just target the low branches on the socioeconomic tree. There are plenty of banksters and politicians that need arresting also. You know... the people that are funding Antifa and BLM.

I can't take these LEOs seriously until they actually go after some of these big wings with the same zeal as they do the brick throwers. Hell, count up all of the damage done by the rioters in all of these cities and it would still pale in comparison to the theft of Americans in counterfeiting, inflation, Fed Reserve running up the prices of real world assets by printing up fake money...

But those guys walk away stealing trillions and none of these damn backwoods cops bats an eye. Disgusting world we live in when we have sanctimonious police chastising their citizens while all of this other nonsense is going on.

The war on drugs is the biggest bunch of garbage ever dumped on the American public.
Itโ€™s time to decriminalize all drugs.

And itโ€™s time to be rid of the police Union. I have no idea why they are needed or exist.
I donโ€™t think you can legally get rid of the police union, can you?

Police unions keep bad officers on the force. there is no need for the police union.
Why do you suppose the police unions are consistently opposed to outside oversight for officers?
I know if I was a cop I would vote for a police union..... police unions are no different than any other unions.... they are they to fight for the employees.....

Unions are completely useless and are destructive to every industry where they are in use. The need for unions in most cases has passed.
Thatโ€™s not entirely true but they can definitely be a bad things at times...... that decision is up to the employees that vote to have one or vote to get rid of it........ I know one time I worked at a job where the union wanted to come in..... management found about it and we got all kinds of perks bc they didnโ€™t want us in a union.

15 years ago, I would have agreed with you. But I do believe you are 90% correct. I think you have a few (very few) good unions and a lot of bad ones. Just speaking from my experience, I think the IBEW is a good group. I think the UAW, police unions and most govt employee unions are useless and paint a pizz pour picture of unions and do labor unions a disservice.

I guess I like the IBEW is that they do establish a set of standards for their apprentices and seems like they are involved in trying to train their workforce. And quite frankly, I don't think they have done enough to protect American jobs from illegal aliens and foreigners taking their work here at home.

But maybe that is just my experience.

I Agree with you on IBEW.
