That’s been my point all along. Even with a fully invested coaching staff it’s unfair to expect so much from a freshman. However in Maurers case it’s even more unfair due to how the off season was handled going in and the timing in which they decided to make the switch. I see it as no different than calling a kid stupid for not being able to teach HIMSELF calculus within 2 weeks because his teacher didn’t teach.Under the very best of circumstances... it is difficult for a Fr to play well and avoid mistakes. I'm not sure he could have been "ready" even if all that time had been invested in him. A Fr is still usually limited. It should have been enough to "fix" JG's play... and wasn't.
