To Protect and to Serve II

Listen to what he is saying, especially in the back of the patrol car. he clearly is unstable likely due to drugs and mental illness, it is pretty obvious.

That is why 911 was called, his story and the way he was acting didn't make sense and people know when something isn't normal.

Violate his constitutional right? Afraid not.

And i am not hung up on race, but that is the reason this is such a "big story" right now, if he was white, you never would've heard about this story, because it's not that big of a deal either way.

and again BS, I would be the first to criticize these officers if they did something wrong (like the officer cursing at him out of frustration definitely should be written up for that), but the response to resistance was appropriate for the circumstances, especially if he really did grab an officer's weapon.

So it was a medical issue? Why not call EMTs?

The man was walking down the street. He hadn’t murdered, raped, assaulted, robbed, or hurt anyone but because of a frivolous law he was stopped and arrested on dredged up charges and then beaten. His rights weren’t violated?

Ricky at one time I guess you were a police officer and swore to uphold the constitution, what happened? Were you indoctrinated to only protect the thin blue line?

What do you mean? They were appropriately using the batons as he was actively kicking them and resisting. They didn't go overboard and they didn't hit spots you aren't supposed to (like cracking his head). It wasn't a "beating" no matter what the media wants to portray it as. If they were actively trying to hurt him, they would have, they were trying to gain control of him.
That is beyond stupid. Jesus Christ.

No one said he hurt anyone, but there is this thing called "community caretaking", and they only arrested him because of his behavior and the fact that they lied about who he was. If he had given his actual name and stated the truth about what he was doing, he likely would've been sent on his way.

Once he grabs an officer's weapon (much like Brooks), everything in the situation changes.

There is nothing unconstitutional about this 911 call, their brief detaining, arresting him for criminal impersonation, NOR using response to resistance when he resists arrests and assaults them

How so? please explain
Look, I do my best to meet you in the middle so we can have a some semblance of a functional conversation. I really don't think that's going to happen this time. If you watch that beating and tell me there's no way that four grown men who swore to protect and serve their community could not have de-escalated that situation WITHOUT using batons on a handcuffed man who's on the ground? You are out of your mind.

Any chance in hell you could try to meet me in the middle here? Even just a quarter?

Might surprise some of the cop haters on here but I agree with any criticism of police in this video.....also, why can't police just somewhat explain "look, we got a call of suspicious activity and we are just checking it out, answer a few questions and we will let you go"

Now see? This is a perfect example of police being completely in the wrong. This is miscommunication between officers which led to this nonsense. The officers should be punished for being in the wrong here

The officers were calm and respectful and the situation wasn’t escalated till he tried to grab their gun. Brooks was a similar incident.

I have a question, can EMT's administer tranquilizers/sedatives to people who are mentally or emotionally disturbed?

Usually only if they are intubating them for serious issues. They are usually handcuffed by police or tied down by EMS until they can be restrained and medicated in ED. B-52 loaded syringe and such

Every one of those cops in Chattanooga should be fired, sued to total bankruptcy, charged and convicted of assault, and spend the next 10-20 years in Tennessee's most unforgiving prison.

He was arrested for lying about his name which requires an arrest in this situation. If he had been honest they likely would’ve let him go. The arrest was legal and his actions of assault escalated the situation
Why did they ask him what his name was?

This is the same kind of BS the Nazis and Soviets used to systematically erase people btw.
