McCaffrey said cops kept him in jail for two hours — before releasing him with a disorderly conduct summons for cursing them out while he was on the ground.

What?!?!? Cops curse at people all of the time. It is sickening to see cops be able to get away with behavior that they so readily charge people with. And isn’t cursing protected speech? Any lawyers on this site care to comment? Any LEO’s care to comment?

I don't agree with lighting him up four times, but why didn't he just stop in the first place? Honestly, I have the same question about George Floyd. He was handcuffed, and they were attempting to put him in the back of a squad car, and he fought them. Why? That doesn't excuse the actions of the officers, but why resist? It makes no sense.

I was not in any way a fan of David Roddy because of one of his executive management decisions (somewhat chronicled in this thread) but that guy is already gone and Roddy has been a bit of a pleasant surprise.

Roddy is in favor of outside review. Currently they send (at least some of and more serious) complaints to Hamilton Co for review and investigation at least making an effort for a fair investigation. I like Roddy so far.

Create the National Police Misconduct Registry to prevent officers accused of wrongdoing from getting jobs at other agencies.

Wow. Creating databases tracking people "Accused of wrongdoing". Want to know who else created lists? Nazis. <--semi blue font

This is common sense. One of the main reason that police brutality continues is that cops that actually get in trouble for it just get a job in the next county or city until they find a place they can get away with their crimes at.

You would not want a pilot that was banned from flying in one state due to negligence and incompetence being your pilot because he switched companies. You would not want a dr who gets his professional license stripped in another state to operate on you here. Same thing.


A registry of violent offenders is on par with the sex offender registry. I guess you are against that too.

LOL. Wtf??? Its a registry for the ACCUSED. Not the convicted. Do you not know how anything works? For a guy who likes to tell people to "Educate" themselves you seem pretty far down the knowledge totem pole.

If you are accused of raping a person you dont get put on a sex offender list. If you get convicted you do. Democrats want to put anyone who has a "complaint" against them on a list. See, thats like me saying hey K-town Court Jester, you touched someone inappropriate last week at around 3:32 pm. Time to go on that sex offender list now right? Good lord.

And lets educate you on something. Pilots dont get "banned from flying in a state". Its federally regulated. You lose your license you lose your license.

Convicted of a police brutality? Ok, go on a list. Accused? No. This isn't Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union..

True story.
Well done by the police officer.

today I went to the permit office down town and walked by as a couple of people (8-12) were yelling at a police officer who was largely ignoring them. Finally a younger guy (black guy) says to the officer “ how do you sleep at night, Brother?!?!” The officer (black cop) answered in a voice that sounded like he was talking to a friend. “Oh, I have recently gotten a purple mattress. That thing is awesome. It was a little pricey but worth it” then looks away. The angry mob (some laughter) started moving on.

And that’s how you handle a crowd that’s angry without having to crack skulls.
