I am still surprised that CJP did not have enough sense the first year to sweep the roster clean. It did not even start to happen until the second season. This program was a complete mess the day he walked in. Clean it up first, then add the building blocks. I guess it was HC inexperience. I know his former boss would not and did not put up with it at Bama when he was hired.

There was really only one guy on a Short Leash like that and it was JT Shrout who had no interceptions... (his only one was called back on a roughing the passer penalty).

Maurer threw a ton of interceptions and still was allowed to play.

Never understood that. But it is, what it is.

Also, regarding sweeping the roster clean? WTH was he supposed to do that with? He barely had any players he wanted. He had like 10 days to recruit his Early Signing class and another 2 months to recruit his normal Signing class.....

Started half a season...that’s long term. Nate Peterman would own the patent for most horrible UT QB ever if he was eligible.

I have never seen a QB who should have been really good, struggle so much under “the pressure of the situation” like Peterman. Kid was a head case .

How many games did Worley start ? I remember him but never remember feeling a sense of dread with any other UT Qb like I do when JG takes the field. I have about as much confidence in his abilities that JG shows each time he takes the field. He just doesn’t have confidence and it shows every time he plays with the exception of maybe one game a year.

Chess not checkers?

Is it possible these back to back commitments plus rumors of more on the way is a coordinated effort by the staff to keep positive mojo flowing so as to further appeal to JT?

Lets be honest, blue chippers want to play with blue chippers. JT sees a 5 star commit to UT, then a 4 star. We've got momentum now. Im sure JT is taking note of such things.

One could argue the stats are very similar.factor in Worley never playing a full season...JG looks about the same and did he regress this year👀🤔🥴

He has value, quite a lot of value as a backup QB...period. You do not know the particular reason why other QBs were pulled, and I do not either...it is just guessing on our part.

However...I do NOT want him starting another game for UT just as much as you...ever.

25 scholarship limit makes purging the roster like you wanted almost impossible.

Worley had one big win (SC) and never led a team to a winning record. JG has more. It’s a human tendency to see the NOW and project it as the worst ever. Not stumping for our returning starter; but some of us have way too much perspective on the subject.
