Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

G'night all. For those so inclined, remember to thank the Good Lord for those who are manning the lines in this battle against an invisible foe, at great risk to both themselves and their families. I have no doubt that over the years I made it through many a mid-shift, chase, fight, and who knows what all else because I was in someone's prayers. Usually my wife, but you get the point.

Time to pay it forward. See y'all tomorrow at some point.

I asked twice last night (at least); I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn't see.

Do you think talking about Nielsen ratings is worse/same/not as bad as Pelosi claiming on TV and at press conference that Trump's decisions have killed people?
Wasn't aware she had said that. If so, that is hyperbolic absurdity... and not helpful to anything.

Can't deny that. I just feel for New York. Such a great cosmopolitan town now being changed because of this virus. It's easier to "socially distance" one self elsewhere, but New York isn't built that way.

It's sad, man.
I just don't understand these 200k dead claims...let's assume that everything is linear with Italy since they have been the worst hit.. they had 0.17% of their population infected we currently have 0.05% so if our total cases equals theirs 105,792/60,500,000=X/331,000,000 or 578,800 cases. Our current death rate is 2% so that would equal 2/100=X/578,000 or 11,560 if our death rate climbed to 3% it would be 17,340 Why are we so outside every other country?

I just did those exact calculations. I don’t get the discrepancy either

It is interesting and very indicative of what is most important to him, that Donald Trump thought discussing the Neilsen ratings during Sunday's press conference (and at some considerable length) was necessary and of an urgent importance to the nation. Or was it just important to him?
Doubling down. So does that put you and Trump on the same level? You don't seem too concerned about people dying when you can use it to attack Trump.

A more reasonable comparison to Pelosi's comment is the whole right wing talking about Hillary and Benghazi. But lets compare it to Trump and TV ratings. Maybe we should have Corona virus hearings and look through emails for 5 years.

Thank you. I just don’t get it. I hate it for the families that have lost a loved one. But to possibly put 47 million Americans out of work for something that kills about as many as the flu is crazy. We are just keeping our kids home. And trying to be careful. Something is not rig hit here

Here's one the projections being cited at the conference. 200k would be at the extreme. These projections currently say around 85k by August.

It is an AP FACT CHECK, which is available on 'apnews.com'. That is why I said "Per AP News". Just Google: "AP FACT CHECK: Trump misrepresents Obama's actions on H1N1 by Lauran Neergaard and Calvin Woodward on March 13, 2020"

I see you editorialized it and adding things that weren't in the original like:

The huge challenge was finding a vaccine. H1N1 popped up in April of 2009, which was just 3 months into Barack Obama's presidency and he was still better prepared to handle it than Trump has handled COVID-19. Obama never downplayed or minimized the threat to the American public as Trump has done.

This is why I asked for the source since those comments are not indicative of AP writing or even a reputable fact check.

Huh? You think talking about ratings is worse than the House leader claiming (with no proof) that the POTUS's actions are killing people?

What a world.

Yes... I added commentary, but the headline is theirs and so are the facts of how the H1N1 was handled, and how it differs significantly from the Coronavirus.

He has been going insane for some time, so keep that in mind.

Wow, those numbers are amazing.

I think middle class America has freaked over coronavirus because it doesnt discriminate. Lol, actually it kind of does. Anyway, you could show those numbers as a comparison and there would be a bunch of well, but......
Pretty sad indictment on us. Explains why there is a Hell.

There are and there would be better options if people stopped voting for bad candidates. If Republican voters refused to support bad politicians, the RNC would be forced to change up. We're just 8 years removed from the Tea Party and an R senate and POTUS just passed a $2T bailout. This happened because they'll get your vote no matter what.

If you didn't vote in primaries for Rand Paul, then you can't claim the excuse that there aren't other options.
I guess your vote for Gary Johnson would have been a good one. He would have told everyone to fend for themselves.

Just explaining why I asked for a source since you co-mingled their words with your own without indicating which was which. How were we to know what came from them and what from you?
