Sure, people who want their student loans forgiven, people who want more affordable health care, people who want a restructured progressive tax system..............we're talking millions of people who could see Bernie as being in the best interest of their pocket book.

So who is going to eat the trillion+ loss in loans for student debt?

People may want more affordable health care, but they also do not want to lose their healthcare they have and like for something unknown and unproven. The efficiency of govt spending coupled with the speed and quality of the DMV.

I don't think that the people understand that the banks are going to get paid. They aren't writing off trillions of dollars. That means the taxpayers will be paying the financial institutions. I don't think they get it.

True. "Writing off" student debt will be a boon for the banks and their stockholders.

We could leave HS as an ASE certified mechanic, two years into a welding apprenticeship (I think the same for electrician) or a licensed cosmetologist.

We need to model our high schools after Germany. If you want in Germany, the last two years of high school you can participate in an apprenticeship program for various trades. When you graduate you can get a good paying, stable job. I've always thought that is one European plan we should copy.

Agreed. We met some guys that worked on a P&O cruise ship, one was the Chief Engineering officer and he was only 23-24 years old. He went to a maritime HS in England and at graduation went straight to sea.

You can make crazy money on a tug boat if you get your maritime license and get outside the bays and ports . My Captain in San Fran would do that , but you have to be gone about three months . I stayed in the bay , they called us harbor whores . Lol

They don’t and I don’t think they care because it won’t be them.

I also think that they think Medicare for all is free. They think my healthcare at age 70 is free. From what they take out of my SS benefits for both healthcare and mandatory prescription drug coverage, plus my supplemental policy to cover what they don't, my free healthcare is almost $4,000 a year. This doesn't include whatever they took out of my check the last however many years. I have been covered for 5 years, and don't use it. I go to a cash clinic .

Do you have good community resources for your son?

Not nearly as much here on the gulf coast as we had in TN ..speech physical therapy food group none of that here unfortunately....he's high functioning but has sensory issues with sound and smell. He would also get bullied because he can't tell emotions and will tell u what he thinks..we were at a Mardi Gras parade and there was an older lady talking to us..he just popped up with "u have funny teeth" I told her I was sorry but she had worked with special needs kids and thought his honesty was awesome..she ended up watching the whole parade with us lol

None of what you listed is consistent.

None of those things include health care. You can live without government provided health care.
We have liberty now without government provided health care.
We can pursue happiness without government provided healthcare.

Preservation of health is neither covered by government provided health care, nor any of life liberty or pursuit of happiness. Your sacred european models rely on death panels. No preservation of health. The Brits denied parents the right to try and save their kid. I would say that is denial of life liberty and pursuit of happiness for both the baby and the parents.

What you ask for achieves none of what you want. But it does take away the liberty to decide how we live. It denies pursuit of happiness by forcing us to spend our money where we may not want it .

Why do the ones who will benefit from having their student loans forgiven care who is going to pay? I guess they feel as if the ultra wealthy pay. They are just doing what is best for their immediate pocket book - same as many Trumpers on here.

Why should student loans be forgiven? Why not credit card debt, mortgages, or IRS debts?

My point is how shortsighted and dangerous it is to vote primarily on immediate impact to your pocket book.
No one is going to completely forgive all student loans, but there are multiple actions that could be taken that would lessen the burden on the students as well as lessen the windfall to unscrupulous lenders.
