I'll say this, as a Bernie fan. I think there is going to be massive realignment either way.
I personally know 3 Republicans (2 of which backed Trump in 16') backing Bernie. We can grab a decent proportion of populist independents and Republicans.
I assume some centrist Dems will back Trump or vote 3rd Party.
This is not going to be an easy election for Dems anyway you cut it.
If it's not Bernie, I will back the nominee assuming it is not Bloomberg and that the DNC doesn't pull anything at the convention.
But look at the national polls, if you don't like him on ideology that's fine.
But if you are hesitating because he can't beat Trump, there is no evidence that he performs worse than any other Dem.
Trump has a 94% R approval rating. Using your 67% anecdote is statistically insignificant. You will not get any meaningful R support.
