Our defense and receivers won us games. Every team who had a good defense shut down JG. The bowl game should have been a blow out and the only reason it wasn’t was JG. Yes JG helped us win some games, but he also contributed to the losses as well. He is too inconsistent with his play. We won’t win more than 8 with him as QB.

It's all a team sport, we're fine and Maurer isn't the savior. He's got a handful of big plays under his belt, that's it. He wasn't -the guy- and with Bailey on campus, he probably never would have gotten a shot to prove if he could be the guy.

You sure like to give Hank a lot of grief even though he is one of the few people on here who actually work for the NFL and earns a living from football... I am not a football expert by any means but I do know a few VFLs and ones that talk to Fulmer to this day. They do not think JG can lead us past the big boys. They were fed that JG had turned the corner and was going to shock the world this past year. Obviously he did not and still has the same issues. I do not care about beating Vandy and Mizzou. I care about beating UGA, UF, and Bama. Let’s just all hope Bailey is the real deal and runs away with the job.

Agreed. As some else mentioned it opens up Memphis a bit more, but it also helps in Middle Tennessee. I’m pretty sure he had a hand in Jacoby Stevens and Jacob Phillips ending up there.
