Ruining game and line would help with that next yearBM is a baller but needs to settle down a fuzz. Was exciting for a bit but the excitement was turnovers and was gonna be turnovers. I’m ok with JG taking the helm for first half of year and then Harrison taking over. Nowhere near the hype Harrison Bailey has coming in his freshman year and we were all salivating over him. So I think if we can just wait on Harrison to get ready we won’t be disappointed. Who knows as long as we win!
No he didn’t. Everyone fell in love after that long TD vs UGA but outside of that play, he looked lost out there and it’s lucky he didnt have twice as many interceptions as he did.
Oh, and he’s very small, and can’t finish a game.
That said, he had confidence and moxie. If he was patient and took a red shirt year, he could be something down the line. But not now. Transferring is a mistake.
I won't argue.... since my point is proven by the very fact a comparison can be made and argued. But think about what you said. In a season Chaney helped change him from that to a "decent" QB. JG still struggles.Crompton was a less accurate JG with a run game to lean on. Crompton's Jr year stats make JG look like a Heisman candidate.
Kind of what you want to make of it.Hmm. I remember Stewart being lights out. In fact at least half of our fan base preferred him over Manning for a while during their freshman year. I thought Stewart had a strong arm, was accurate and could also run if needed. He played well at A&M too.
He was an Elite 11 QB but I do not think he finished at the top... or the bottom. It is supposed to be a competition between 5* caliber QB's. I believe Harrison Bailey had a similar finish in his Elite 11 group.Agree. I think BM has a strong arm and is pretty accurate. Just because he takes more chances doesn’t mean he’s not a good passer. Didn’t he win one of those elite 10 competitions? I’m pretty sure your passing skills are evaluated
According to SECStatCat's data, their accuracy was almost identical in the 4 main games when they shared meaningful playing time: UK, Bama, MSU, UGA. JG 55.56%, BM 55.17%. JG's uncatchable % in those games was actually worse 19% v 17%. Maurer's average depth of target in those games was 13.40 yds. JG's was 10.44.And again, their discussion is opinion based and apologist in nature.
And what you bring up is an honest discussion. When one apologizes away interceptions for one with bounced off chests and receiver who played with a QB signee didn’t turn the right ways, then they’ve taken objectivity out of the equation. Flubbed plays that aren’t the fault of the QB happen to EVERY QB. To not acknowledge that reality makes a conversation pointless. Obviously not referencing you.According to SECStatCat's data, their accuracy was almost identical in the 4 main games when they shared meaningful playing time: UK, Bama, MSU, UGA. If JG were the QB that some here think he is... these comparisons could not be made. They wouldn't be made since he would have never been benched.
It is all speculation to say what Maurer would have done given some other situation. It is not speculation to say he had spotty results or that JG's poor play opened the door. There is no indication that BM was anything less than the starter following the UGA game. The injury vs MSU changed his trajectory this season and that of JG.
