I is as 28. My wife and I had rented a cabin in the smokies, drank too much Sangria and watched the game. It was incredible!!when we won the championship in 98? Where were you?
Bored, and since we're waiting for our bowl game, I figured how about story time.
I was 13 and watched it with my dad, grandma, and little brother. My dad and I jumped up and down for joy. We we're on the edges of our seats the entire game. I remember Fulmer's and Tee's post game interview so vividly. I'll never forget that magical feeling. My does time go by so fast.
I was living in Columbus Ohio at the time too, the Buckeyes would have been the opponent if they hadn’t blown the Michigan State game at home. I remember they felt they should have still been there instead of FSU. A day before the big game a Columbus radio station had a simulated game between The Buckeyes and The Vols with Play by play announcers, fan noise and everything. Obviously they had The Big Orange losing and TOSU were the BCS champs. LOLI was 21 and in college at Ohio State wearing my UT hat with pride and a couple of the players were in my classes and still salty from the loss in the Citrus.
Oddly, I now live near a few of those same Ohio State players who live in Nashville and still get to rub my UT gear in their face when I run into them or hang out with them.
They laugh about it but they know Ut is their daddy.
