Similar. We weren't even picked as being in 2nd place tho. And that includes AFTER Lupoi left.

Lupoi leaving being the main factor, is very logical estimation but it's not set in stone.
Like I said, we were supposed to be 3rd regardless, so landing him wasn't "supposed" to happen, not even close. So yeah, landing DW would be similar and definitely not unknown territory for Nieds.

The key to the HT recruitment was that Tosh Lupoi, the defensive coordinator at Alabama, HT's lead recruiter who was also Polynesian and actually went to HT's high school, left Alabama about 10-15 days before NSD. That totally changed the game, credit to our staff for prevailing once that game changer happened, but that's why we seemingly came out of nowhere in that recruitment.
