I like the kid, but I think we have seen his ceiling. If his ceiling stops being fickle, I hope he wins the job.

However it seems more likely that one of the other four are finally able to out develop him over the course of the next year. Just my opinion. For his sake, hope I'm wrong.
Is his ceiling 400 yard performances? Cuz he just did that. We are in a great position next year. It SEEMS JG is past his uncertainty issues, which are the real reason he struggled. If he isn't, we have capable backups, a blue chip freshman and a quality transfer waiting to help.

Ya dude basically what I was saying. I'm just not convinced the roller coaster of him is over. If not I think one of the others might provide more successful stability.

In other words if Maurer is playing at the same level or even slightly less but does so consistently without the up and downs, then who should play?

If JG has put it all behind him and is ready to embrace legend status of 300+ passing on a normal day then for sure keep him in. I just think his relative value of being arms and shoulders qb1 of the team compared to the others will likely be diminished or overtaken. Which is actually probably what we want to happen. Shows development.

If Bailey EEs, I wouldnt want to bet against him having a chance to take it. Otherwise JG is very likely to start, considering his coaches, I think he keeps improving and can get a solid year.

What are the chances we aee a BM transfer?
I recall you blasting me several weeks ago for predicting that same thing. Maurer was never recruited to be the starter here and if Bailey is anywhere near as good as advertised then yes I believe BM will and probably should transfer out over being a 4 year backup. Bad timing for a seemingly talented kid.

Several weeks ago, JG was still unable to hit water from a boat. He still has a game to win and it needs to be won convincingly.

You say that like the dude ever had any to begin with.
Oh, he had confidence. In the spring game of his freshman season during one of Butch’s stupid games in which the qb’s were throwing 50 yards into a trash can, he takes the snap and does a 360 before throwing the ball.

I voted no. Without #1 and #15 we will need a real QB. I am for whoever gives us the best chance of winning per the coaches and hoping someone else will step up.

He'll likely start. Will he be a heisman candidate? No. Interested to see how Bailey performs during spring practice.
You can be assured with 100% accuracy if JG finishes the season out doing ok, people here will talk about him and the Heisman if he stays at Tennessee next year. Hell, it almost got close to that preseason before Ga State and reality kicked in.
