Ignont left the team

Well I’ll say this the kid lasted way longer than I expected. Some of you might recall that when he committed I posted displeasure but didn’t want to be direct about it but I knew for a fact he was a very bad Apple in Hs. He had significant drug issues and those were the reasons he bounced around schools and why many schools passed on him. Of course I ripped for posting my worries.

He lasted longer than I would have guessed but not at all suprised he was never a winning player.

I’m just sayin at Georgia he was really good at using everyone in different packages.he created plays around the skilled players he had on Offense as far as (Trickery) or ways to get them open..I know JG sucks but when I mean (creativity) I mean Throw Jauan in there at QB on a trick play or something..this team has weapons on Offense we just need a QB to shine the light on them.
He had Eason and Fromm. I mean, I'm sure we would look a lot better with them. Receivers have been open all season.

Where did I say I was worried about the top teams? I was responding to a person who was talking about recruiting rankings and how they correlate. Never did I say we should be competing with top programs right now. Y’all are on a whole other level today lol.

you win they come, correlate that.

Had some sideline issues last season too, right?

I don’t know. He was about 10-15 yards past him and if JG hits him in stride...., either way it’s a game changing play with score only 7-0. And that’s after the drop int.

He wasn't past him, he was just far away horizontally. Should not have said safety, I think it was a CB on rewatch. Just coming from the other side of the field. Maybe catches him around the 30 or 20. But either way a gamechanger like you said...if we can actually get points from the red zone for once hmm.

Interesting. His own decision. Maybe JP was giving him the ol Saban treatment by giving him a structure. Hope he gets well.

Another overused excuse. Every school has its quirks and power struggles.

I think if you look at the current elite programs, everyone is rowing in the same direction. That certainly hasn't been the situation with Tennessee for a very long time.

Chris Low said he spoke to many coaches off the record that considered this job, all had toxic leadership and booster power struggles as big reason they didn't move forward with discussion.

He even gave an example of one of the "Big Name" coaches that was considering Tennessee was confronted by a high profile booster stating his role was sort of like a "GM of Football".

I have 4 Tix for sale to the UGA game at face value for sale. Wanted to post them here before I put them widely available.
Sell'em to an UGA fan but tell them the wrong section for the tickets so they will wear the wrong color and screw up the UGA checkerboard. That will teach'em.

This is one of the biggest issues with Tennessee football. You parade around about Tennessee's average recruit rankings as to why Tennessee should be good. Have you watched any of the games? How many players are no longer on the team or never played a meaningful snap at Tennessee?

If there was no such thing as recruit rankings, would people seriously be watching the team the past few years and saying "yeah we have a lot of talent"? If you have a good roster you beat teams like Ga St even if coaching is bad. Look at the Charlotte game from last year, I did not see much of a talent difference on the field.

The SEC set a record in the last NFL draft for players drafted and not one of them was from Tennessee. I think Tennessee has not had a player selected in 3 of the last 5 drafts. I do not really like piling on the players but I am not sure Tennessee has a lot of guys that would play for other power 5 teams.

The question isn't how good they are at the moment, it's a question of how good they could/should be, given proper development, s&c, scheme, etc. There is no question a strong correlation between HS recruiting and getting guys to the league. We have recruited well, but have not developed, schemed, etc well.

As for attrition, the team talent composite accounts for it. We are 15th. Florida is 16th. Poor ole Mizzou is 40th. Only hope is we keep getting top 15 or 20 classes and do much better with them in the next year or two or else.

is it an excuse if it's true?
i mean yeah, every school has them.

not every school has them jockeying for power like we've had. Auburn had similar issues. Bama definitley did, part of the reason they went thru their nearly decade of dumb.

and if you're looking for reason 1a on how/why it happened here, it starts there.....

After catching up from this AM, I think KV needs to hit the transfer portal. He's about as negative as our QB play vs. FL. Well, we should probably let him hire our next head coach first before he leaves. ;)
I think he is just going through the " Football stages of grief" and is a little down in the dumps. It's ok to vent IMO, kinda like when one of your friends is frustrated, you just listen and let them vent it out.

Not a big excuses kind of person, but especially not ones that have nothing to do with actually coaching football.
agree. there aren't any boosters calling plays or running drills.

but they're the money that purchased the coaches we have and have had....and in some way/shape/form helped make or had input on who those coaches would be.

cause/root cause.

It still has nothing to do with actually coaching football. That seems to be a problem right now. JMO.
you're not wrong on that. the more immediate issue is how to get this group better....now, or as close to now as possible.

the other stuff is a big picture issue, and much, much slower to fix, if it gets fixed at all.
