Maybe you should have an inkling of knowledge before you argue. JG played a national schedule. He played much better teams. He didn't finish 2-8 against better competition.Wow dude. Not even close to true. They arenāt even close in class so they wouldāve never been evaluated against one another. JGs stats vs New Jersey competition vs BMs stats vs Florida competition says it all. You shouldnāt reach that far man..... youāll fall.
The irony of this post is incredible.Maybe you should have an inkling of knowledge before you argue. JG played a national schedule. He played much better teams. He didn't finish 2-8 against better competition.
You don't have to be in the same class to know a borderline 5 star is considered more talented or better than a low three star.
Good analysis coach.![]()
i agree here and maybe even better...I feel like itās just the opposite. I feel like JTS could be just as good as JG given time and BMs full talent is being hidden. The game plan set forth this past weekend pretty much solidified my opinion by not letting Maurer throw like they did with JTS. If they were both playing with the starters like JG was the final stats look very close. JTS is a bit erratic but there were a couple that more than likely wouldāve been caught by JJ,MC or Palmer. Maurers play calling was incredibly suspect. Heās not Lamar Jackson so read option isnāt his style. They couldāve very easily called the same game for each to give us a better feel of what theyāve been saying. But they didnāt. At least not for BM. If they were going to switch offensive styles then why not switch it to something heās accustomed to like they did in the spring game? It looked to me that they installed an offense that limited his abilities.
Noodle arm? He possibly has the second strongest arm on the team behind Shrout. He has a stronger arm than HB. So you obviously donāt know what youāre talking about.i agree here and maybe even better...
Maurer not throwing much is them protecting him. We saw him in the spring. Nothing has changed. Noodle arm maybe worse
Might as well chalk it up because BM is not a read option qb. Heās fast enough but heās not shifty. Heās tough but heās not built to take that kind of punishment. Heās a passer first, not a runner.Seems clear JT as the backup got the pro style reps and theyāre developing a specialty read option pkg for BM in case we need a changeup.
So BM did not get to run the same O as JG and JT. Whether this QB hierarchy has been decided on the basis of skill or seniority and whether Pruitt and Chaney agree is unknown.
Weāll see how the rest of the season unfolds and could be Pruittās got it right but Iāve got waning faith in our HCās decision making so far. If it turns out we left our potentially most talented backup on the bench bc we never gave him a chance to be evaluated running our pro style O then that will simply be another big negative on the ledger against Pruitt at the end.
To be fair the receivers do seem to be overrunning their routes. Multiple times Iāve seen them enter the zone that theyāre designed to be in when theyāre open, but they just keep running and force the QB to make a difficult pass. Folks think Iām crazy but watch the tapeIsnāt the point of progressions not to preselect a receiver? If your answer is yes then why wouldnāt he take advantage of the 1 on 1 coverage outside on a go route to a bigger receiver with no safety help? Thatās a catch to any one of our receivers not named Keyton obviously. And I never heard Pruitt say that. I heard him say they both made horrible decisions with no details of what he meant. Not saying he didnāt elaborate later but I havenāt seen it. And just to further my point did you hear him criticize JG for the same āhorrible decisionā on his very first pass that shouldāve been picked? Because I didnāt. Funny huh?
At this level a former 4* receiver should be willing and able to make adjustments and make catches over a shorter FCS cornerback.... keyboard tough guyItās the epitome of maturity to call out a kid for not making your anointed look good...Coach. And Iām finished āspawningā you toolbag! But if I wasnāt, Iād spawn like a ******* racecar! Coach.![]()
I know what you mean. And youāre probably right. But the disagreement here is the fact that people are saying BM looked far worse than JG when he wasnāt given much of a chance. He literally threw 2 passes out of the 3 total pass plays called and the one thatās most in question was man to man coverage. To be fair the receivers do seem to be overrunning their routes. Multiple times Iāve seen them enter the zone that theyāre designed to be in when theyāre open, but they just keep running and force the QB to make a difficult pass. Folks think Iām crazy but watch the tape
