If he is completely confident of being a 1st round selection then he should 100% go. Dyron Nix was a projected 1st rounder after his junior season but came back for his senior year. Didn’t have the year he expected and dropped to a second round pick and didn’t stick in the league. Too much risk for little reward.

GW is a smart guy who should learn from history

If Grant and Bone have lackluster NBA Combines, then they both could be back and that would certainly be a boost for the team. Then we would only need to adjust for the loss of Schofield, Alexander, a seldom used transfer and two walk-ons!

Huge if it happens!

I don't see it happening, but I have been wrong so many times, that I could see it happening!

Well we won't know until the draft honestly, I like that this rule allows kids to get drafted (or not) without losing eligibility.


Bone I believe is just gone period though. Grant if he slips to the 2nd may return "thanks but no thanks" cause he's likely to only improve his draft potential returning.

I am curious to see the results. My feeling has been if Stokes could not make a team then neither can Williams. Stokes reminded my of Wes Unseld and I thought he was a 1st round pick. I know better now. I just don't see Williams playing overseas, could be wrong on that as well, because he has other good alternatives outside basketball.

There is no rule that allows them to be drafted. They can only go to combine and be graded. If they choose to enter draft, then they are no longer eligible.

You can actually stay in draft and return to school if you don't get drafted. But you have to notify your school that you want to continue your eligibility by 5pm on the Monday after the draft.

I want to know if this is true. There is another story linked here somewhere that that says this rule isn't in effect yet

Yeah, Grant will withdraw depending on combine results/grading. Cause he knows he would get drafted.

Bone will see if he's drafted, small chance he could return if undrafted. But based on how the staff is grinding for another 2019 guy potentially I don't know. ORN has taken a spot (Walker's I guess). Would be great to have Grant return and give Burns & ORN a good mentor.

Peyton just loved college and didn't need the money... I think Grant is the same, and could improve his skills for the NBA by coming back, especially if he works on some moves at the 3-line-- catch & shoot, step-back, and cross-over... if he added those skills, he would shoot up into the top-10 next year.
