When Saban retires, what would CJP do if Bama called

Coaches are here for the money, if the money is better elsewhere they are gone tomorrow. This statement covers all UT coaches so don't need to ask again. Its the only profession where the leader preaches loyalty, honesty lets all get together and build a program to potential recruits, but that does not include him. He is gone tomorrow if the right offer comes along. Reality of big money sports. None of them are worth what they make.

You know thinking about this, I'm not so sure he would leave us right after Saban retires. If he has us at a championship level he might want to stay like Dabo has at Clemson. Speaking of Dabo he may be Bama's next coach. Of course if he did leave we might be an attractive job for the next coach if we are at that winning level.

I think if it happens after 2020-2021 season
IF
Pruitt has brought our steaming pile of a program back to credibility with an 8 win season and then a 10 win season, he is pulling in top 5-7 recuiting classes
AND
bammers decide they cant get Dabo and want to go for an "up and comer" who is also a homer and of the Saban tree
THEN and ONLY THEN
they are likely to give him an offer that few would refuse - I am sure Fulmer would try to match but it would be hard to what Pruitt would undoubtably see as a job he has dreamed about for over a decade.
BUT
if Saban delays till 2022 or after, and Pruitt and company are going gangbusters here, I think even if he gets offered, he stays. Then its like Dabo, he has too good of a situation here to leave for an uncertain one. By then, a lot of the hardest work is already done and he has a chance to build his own legacy at a premier school without having a very large shadow looming over him (no, not Phil's lol)

No way they hire Pruitt unless he proves himself worthy first. They will go after every proven coach that will listen first, including NFL.

Pruitt was 5-7 with 6 beatdown losses in year one and is staring 6-6 in the face in year two. Yeah, he’s an Alabama favorite son, but he’s gotta do/show and helluva lot more at Tennessee before Alabama, the best program in the country, would even consider to come a callin’.

Pretty sure everyone knows that, but that's not the question.
Amazing.
The OP made it perfectly clear that it was contingent on Pruitt being really successful here.
Yet, every other post rambling on about him needing to prove something first.

Apparently "realist" is just code for "I struggle mightily with comprehension" or
"I'm gonna ignore what was written and use this for attention and another chance to repeat my endless mantra". 😅

So you got so triggered by the responses to a pointless and unnecessary thread that you felt the need to let everyone know by posting in it yourself? Classic.

I promise dude keeps a duffle bag packed with Crimson attire waiting for this moment.

If he has success at UT, the only way we keep him long term is if Bama chooses someone else for their first hire after Nick.

If Saban retires, the first choice of Alabama will be former player Dabo Swinney, now the coach at Clemson. They have the money to pay him just as much as Saban.

Found it amusing. (Hence the laughing emoji at the end)

Speaking of triggered. Always loved that it's not necessary to call anyone out by name. Yet, here you are all defensive.
Definitely amusing.

This is an unfair question. What coach wouldn't leave their respective schools for Alabama in the state that program is today. I hate the offseason

Jeremy Pruitt would take the Alabama head coaching job in a New York Minute

Disagree.
If CJP isn't winning 9, 10, 11 games/year, Alabama will not be interested.
If he is, he will have BUILT the program.
Not long ago (1995-2006) Tennessee dominated Alabama (10-2).

Saban had a 91-42-1 record as a head coach, and 14 years of college HC experience when Alabama hired him.

Pruitt would have to have some seriously good years, probably including a few wins over Saban, for him to even make it only a list of possible candidates.
Stop putting Alabama on a pedistal, they made one great hire in Nick Saban, when he leaves they will come tumbling down just like they did in the 90s. Before Saban, Mike Shula had never been a head coach at any level when they hired him. Alabama got very lucky when they landed Saban and when he leaves his empire will crumble to the ground, and the guy that replaces him won’t be able to keep that from happening.

I think the alma mater factor is even larger than the state of their program. Scott Frost chose going home to Nebraska over several better programs.

1. Stay here and build a legacy

2. Leave for Bama

3. Or follow the guy who follows Saban

Your thoughts please also this is contingent on Pruitt doing well here and salary offers are roughly equal.

Until we stop getting boatraced (and quitting) against Mizzou and Vandy, this shouldn't be a concern.....

Actually, if Pruitt is successful here here like Dabo is at Clemson why is it Dabo wont leave what he has built but Pruitt will leave what he built? That's what I understand some of these responses are saying. They both have Alabama blood so what's the big difference? Seriously wanting to know.
By the way,,I've given up on Saban retiring or anything for a long time. He will coach forever with our luck.lol

All we can do is guess, it depends on the person and situation.
I gave an example of someone going home but Jeff Brohm is an example of the opposite.
He turned his alma mater down.
