Surprised that Vandy and USC aren't higher...

We've not been a great baseball team...honestly ever that I can remember, and Knoxville has so much more to on those weekend games. Might be why Vanderbilt numbers are so low, Nashville is a hopping place.

In the end results will dictate, as they always have.

It's not like our expectations suddenly changed. He's built a program that's finished in the top two in the conf twice and been to two conf title games and b2b NCAA tourneys.

Did we not expect him to maintain and build on that before this?

All this is, is fuel for those that don't care for him should he fail...

Totally agree with your last statement. The problem it's that we all have different perspectives of what constitutes success. At this point, I will likely be disappointed if we don't make the NCAAT.

i think you should be disappointed if we're not making it to the sweet 16 a lot more regularly. i think you should be disappointed if we're not consistently a top 4 or 5 program in the SEC. i think you should be disappointed if we don't win an SEC tourney at some point in our lifetimes....get to an Elite 8 or a final four.

the expectations have been raised. whether or not that's because you're angry over the comments, or wanna talk about his new salary or you really liked what hte last 2 years have been like for TN basketball....the expectation level is different than it was when he first arrived.

I'll be honest, I love coach Barnes. Loved coach Pearl. Huge fan of Jerry Green (don't @me) and I was hopeful of Martin & Buzz even. Kind of knew Donnie was a "for now" hire so didn't care too much about him.


When we hired Barnes a guy who spent 15 years in Texas, who was originally from Hickory at the age of 60 I was expecting him to retire here (assuming he was performing well enough not to get fired). My only worry was UNC or type job pulling him (since Roy Williams is 4 years older and seems to have more health concerns).

So I'm not surprised by his comments, never really buy into any coach being loyal if a bigger, better paying gig comes calling. Guess that's why I'm not so up in arms over the presser.

I've already said my piece. I got a little ruffled and talked a lil trash at a pure mccrackhead idiot, and people started the usual crap with me. I wish nobody here knew anything about my personal life.
