My wife is back on methotrexate in the shot form. She was on a pill, but the shot is stronger they say. Her hair comes out some on the shot where it didn't the pill. It's not as bad as the iv chemo where it fell out so much she had to shave it, but there are chunks sometimes.

When she started the shot back again several weeks ago my 14 year old got upset. She started googling stuff, and read that life expectancy for someone with the type of lupus my wife has, on top of shrogens( positive i spelled wrong) was usually around 10 years. She was diagnosed about a year after little bit was born who is 11, so she realized it's been 10 years. She had a meltdown, i mean sobbing because she was afraid her momma was gonna die any day. I had a battle with it when the dr first told us all of this, so I understand. God really helped me get over that, and just told her nobody knows when our time is. I will say my biggest fear is something happening while I'm at work, and them finding her. Sorry to hijack, just the chemo talk got me thinking.

We do a lot of ensure milkshakes (ice cream makes it taste better, otherwise really heavy sweet), where I work. But dairy is hard when having a hard time with the stomach.

You’re not hijacking anything. I’m glad you told us what you and your family are having to deal with. I didn’t know the seriousness of Tiffany’s situation. She will be added to my prayers my friend.

I have a good friend that has lupus, been diagnosed for 13 years. She has bad days and not so better days. It’s a hard disease to understand, I imagine harder for someone so young as your daughter, can’t imagine having to explain and deal with that as a parent. 😞.

The main side effect he was telling me about is nausea.

They should give you anti nausea pills. I have two different kinds they prescribed when they thought I would have to take chemo again so I haven’t needed them since I didn’t. They worked pretty good when I did have chemo!

He says hes going to be giving me some kind of nausea medicine. These chemo pills are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach, so I don't know if that will make it worse or better

I’m confident you will laugh in the face of the negatives and say is that all you got! You have a positive attitude and that’s half the battle. You got this my brother!

You should buy your wife a drivers cap and sit in the back seat every time she drives you somewhere.

My dad did his chemo intravenously as well. He didnt eat because of taste or hunger, just for nutrition. Also couldn't stand the taste or smell of coffee while on chemo. He drank coffee all day long before.
