JG from 2017, ok, I get it. But you don’t any more of 2018 JG? ..... the 4th guy most efficient QB in the SEC on a 5-7 team, despite playing behind THAT OL and with less than dynamic WRs....with a 4-1 td to interception ratio....with a QB rating pretty much equal to Manning’s QB rating at UT (141 vs 147)....all while constantly picking himself up off the turf after getting blasted by unimpeded defenders whom our OLs and RBs never laid a hand on.
I am the farthest distance you can get from a negavol my friend. I am one of them that you see still cheering their butts off at the games where we are getting hammered. But enough of that, if you would have read the next post I wrote you would fine that I was just trying to get K-town stirred up. And then I said something decent about JG.
And you... as always... take part of the facts and draw a conclusion that does not agree with ALL of the facts. Stats tell PART of a story... not all. JG had "great stats" on an O that couldn't stay on the field, score points consistently, or win games. He was easy to defend because there were certain things he could not or was not allowed to do. The "FACTS" are on the video. Someone might even have a completion chart somewhere. He did not throw very many passes where he had to lead the receiver to a spot. He stayed away from the middle of the field. They "managed" him. What he did... he did pretty well. But when you are scoring 20 ppg... it just isn't enough. To stop the rush and open up the run game... he has to be able to read coverages and throw receivers open... and use the middle of the field.
He gets that. To his credit... whether his fault, someone else's, or a combination... he's stuck with it. If you are a Vol fan, you can't help but hope he gets rewarded.
