Since there isn’t much to talk about until tomorrow nights game and the SEC tournament I figured I’d get a discussion/ prediction going. You don’t have to do all of these haha but anyways what position group will be our strongest on each side of the ball?
Predict a breakout player on each side of the ball. Predict which freshmen will have the best season this year (on each side of the ball if you want). Lastly predict our overall record and our standings in the east.

If people aren’t aware of the furor if the comic critics on YouTube, they will enjoy it. I was unaware and looking for a reason to join the mob, but it’s just another fun Marvel movie. I thought the character arc was decent. If you don’t expect it to be feminist in nature, then I don’t know what to tell you, but it’s mostly a good superhero film with basic issues like any superhero movie.

Enjoy

Saw it last night. Was aware of her comments, which are stupid, but enjoyed the movie more than I expected. Definitely recommended. And I'd say both cat lovers and cat haters will find something to love.

Secondary will be our strongest group on the defense specifically the corners I think either Alontae or Bryce will get all SEC. breakout player on the defense will be E Gooden. Breakout player on the offense will be Jeremy Banks I think he finds his way and splits carries with Ty. Freshman of the year will be Q Crouch. I think we go 7-5 (3-5)

I'll be honest and say I don't watch it because it's boring to me. I don't watch any sport where scoring is so low. That includes soccer, hockey, and baseball. Obviously it's a personal choice and many people love baseball or it wouldn't be able to pay it's players the exorbitant amount of money they do.
Is it really any lower scoring than football? Isnt a 28-21 football game just a 4-3 baseball game? The only difference is the arbitrarily assigned point total. 6 (7) points vs 1 run.

Not really, imo. There are many 2-1, 1-0, 3-1 games in baseball. Also, the play in between scoring is much more exciting to me. Are there parts of a baseball game exciting to me? Sure, but just not many of them for my taste. For me, if I want to take a Sunday afternoon nap, I recline back in my recliner and turn on golf, baseball, or NASCAR. NASCAR is the best because of the constant buzzing of the engines going around the track.

Fair enough.

I'm an all or nothing type of person. Either I'm 100% in or I'm 100% out.

I don't have time for baseball right now in my life. It's played every single day for 7+ months, during the daytime hours mostly. I'm a 39 year old man with two kids, a wife, a good job, and a Tennessee Vol addiction. Somewhere along the line you have to trim the tree of sports you follow closely.

Like I said, it's for kids, stay at home moms and old folks. When my kids are grown and gone and I'm retired I might start following closely again. But I just don't have time for a sport with a 162 game season where the games are 3-4hrs long in the afternoons. Sorry.

Totally understand this. 162 game 3-4 hrs a day, got way to many other things to do that I enjoy more than watching baseball. Unless I am waiting on paint to dry. :p

I was a huge baseball fan growing up. It was probably the sport I played that I could have pursued at a higher level.

But, I am kind of with Ron on this. I quit watching. I realized a few years ago that I was slipping when I didn’t know a few guys on my fantasy team and two had hit 30+ home runs the year before. I don’t play fantasy anymore either.

I have 4 kids and interest just disappeared. It probably doesn’t help that my oldest son won’t play it (have tried), and the team I root for (Rangers) isn’t very good. But you have to pick your battles sometimes.
Exactly. Baseball was my favorite sport as a kid, played in high school, was a Braves fan, used to go to Nashville Sounds games all the time. I remember sitting right behind home plate when Jordan came to Nashville to play when he was on the Bham Barons. I still love going to live baseball games once in awhile, taking my family. But I just don't have time to follow it closely enough to know everyones name and what's going on. So interest just went away.

Just saw Captain Marvel.

I was told I was supposed to hate it, but I didn’t. It’s by no means a perfect movie, but it’s not terrible. 7/10

(Outside of being told you're supposed to hate the movie) this is how I feel about basically all superhero movies. Not my genre, marginally entertaining, utterly infuriating when Tony Stark's ego is what drives the movie. Instead of spending $30 at a theater, I just wait a couple years for TNT to air it.

why are some in caps and some not?
tough 2nd round match up. for us. and i'd like to see UNC in a regional final. that'd be fun.

would like to see that UNC/Auburn game. that should be fun too.....

Duke/KS in sweet 16.
Duke/UK regional final..rematch...like it.

UVA and the Zags have trash brackets based on this.

You know that UVA/ Michigan State game is going to OT just before we play UNC

So are you saying you are giving him basically two years to contribute? Seems like that type of time is more in line with 3 to lower 4 star type talent that needs to develop into the position... With all the analysts and hype on this kid, I will give him this past season as a wash and developing/getting his act together, but this fall we need to see him taking meaningful snaps or there should be questions...

Too many other kids of his supposed caliper coming into teams and contributing quite a bit earlier. As you can tell, I am not really sold on this kid yet, coming in last season out of shape is a red flag to me on work ethic, motivation, and seriousness since he clearly knew a lot of folks were counting on him and had high expectations. Guess we'll see... funny, a lot of folks expecting To'oto'o and Crouch to step in and help right out of the shute, but some are already making excuses for this kid who came in last season with as much hype and supposed potential.
Dump him, huh?

For me, the weakest positional group is RB.

Chandler is gold.
Tim Jordan has vision like Helen Keller.
Jeremy Banks has as much wiggle as a 2x4.
Eric Gray is injured and I just don’t think he gets more than 200 yards all season.
Fils-Aime isn’t a natural. Staff didn’t like him doing anything other than jet sweeps.
Princeton Fant isn’t a natural either.

Just an odd collection imo.
it is, but with Chandler and Banks, you at least have some semblence of experience and production. and you hope for a year 2 bump, especially wiht the upgrades at coaching....still safe to call it a ?mark tho. i am interested to see how, if at all, Jordan has improved. agree about the vision 100%. he's not a bad runner, he's physical, and has decent speed. he just needs to see the field better....a lot better actually lol.

to me, the biggest ?mark is DL. and it's mainly because aside from Gooden, there's just not a lot of production coming back....so we really have no idea how that is going to look on a game to game basis.....i don't know how that can't be our biggest ?mark....getting Solomon eligible would be make me feel better here....

OL is 2nd biggest...while i think we're definitley getting an upgrade in talent, we've gotten really young. so i still expect some growing pains. excited about WM getting as many reps at LT. he'll need it, and if he can be our LT, that gives us options elsewhere on the line, which we'll need.

LB is 3rd to me. a lot like the OL, there's a big infustion of talent, but we get younger. i'll be surprised if HT and QC aren't regulars during the season. and we absolutely need guys like Ried and Peterson to step up. not having DKjr, may be addition by subtraction at this point, as Taylor and Bituli should be the anchors.

i feel good about QB, WR, TE and all our DB's....

so, LSS, we're still addressing LOS on both sides, though i do feel better, right now, about the prospects of the OL given the personnel at least, than i do about the DL. and again, that's just because i haven't seen it yet. they could be great. there's a list of what we think are good names at DL. and we'll need them to take some big steps this off season.
