To Protect and to Serve II

Well huff, if I'm doing that I'm going to have something every 5 minutes telling the person at home I'm ok. Simple really. You act like it's Mayberry phone lines in 2019.

You're going to call every 5 minutes every time you leave the house? Yeah, sure thing.

If that's really a concern, you do real police work, and find out who has been living there for 2 decades, and nab them when they're both out.

Not just calls. Texting, video, and recording. It can be quick and doesn't have to be a call.

It’s not that uncommon for narcotics detectives here to wear plain clothes when they’re working. Lots of carharts and black polos with tactical holsters, stuff like that.

I misunderstood your “Since Vietnam”. I thought you meant after Vietnam.
OK, let's say I'm only 29. Does Desert Storm count as a real war? How about Afghanistan/Iraq under W. Bush?

Not sure why nation building escapades in your mind dont count as real wars when real people on both sides died.

If you’re 29 then Vietnam isn’t during that lifetime...

What wars are you talking about? Drugs, poverty? Those “wars”?

They're all wars, of course.

Yeah, you even had trouble understanding what "since" means.

Are you just trying so hard to be combative that you lose the meaning of basic English terms?
Well, you screwed up the Vietnam thing and it made absolutely no sense considering my question you were answering so I figured you don’t understand basic, well, anything.

Combative? I’m asking a very simple question that you are refusing to answer.

What actual wars have we had trouble with? It shouldn’t be hard to be specific. Even you might be able to handle it. I’m not keeping my hopes up though.

I think I have been pretty clear. I clearly stated that in my lifetime, we have have struggles or Pyrrhic victories in every war since Vietnam. If you would like, we can also throw in the war on drugs and the war on poverty, if you would like.

We haven’t been in a true war since Vietnam, though that was a conflict. Even that’s debatable since we weren’t in it to win it, just pussyfooted around keeping the North at bay. Then just left.

The closest would have been Iraq in ‘91, but that was just to push back too. We haven’t had any issues invading or destroying countries. The problems arise from being too nice. Rebuilding, training locals, trying to make them like us, etc. Occupying and fighting random locals is meh. I say we let them all kill themselves. As far as getting into any actual war we’d have no problem destroying the enemy. We just haven’t been in one, which kind of goes with what you’re saying.

We dropped more bombs in Vietnam than the allies did during all of World War II.

It was a war. An illegal war, or as you say "conflict".

Yes they're real wars. Just because technology today(or then) allows us to launch an attack from hundreds of miles off the coast doesn't matter.

We're already using too much force to fight a dumb war on drugs. If you have a cop killer holed up alone, go for it. Flashbanging all corners of the house just to serve a search warrant is the most reckless thing I've ever heard. Do you know how often they get the wrong house? How many drug houses have kids in there? They didn't know if there were kids in this house cause they didn't do the due diligence.
